Well let me clarify, it's not that I want anyone harmed. It's to see what trinis really made of. We have seen government assistance fail in south Trinidad. I know of people personally in rock road and debe who had horrible flooding who applied and never got aid. Constantly checking but runaround.

Now if the disaster affected other areas would the assistance come quicker?

Let's talk about the religious folk who have gotten filthy rich. Would they equally assist people?

I am bored of the illusion that people fool themselves that trinis will get through because of hope.

I don't care if they find my views problematic. I don't believe we can continue down the current state of poor environment care without consequences

T&T is still a third world country...keep that in mind. We have only been seeing after our own affairs for 55yrs. We have plenty to figure out before we start expecting more of organisations like the odpm.

So did Singapore, and it's got itself in order.

Problem is, we keep making excuses for the lack of performance in our services. The political elite love this. They can keep dishing excuses

Irma could be a first catagory 6 hurricane. Possibly

Wind speed is one thing, but rainfall of a hurricane is a release of much, much more energy than its winds. Take Harvey for example. The amount of rainfall was astounding (51 inches) and tells us about the real energy of the hurricane that it picked up in the days prior in the Gulf, compared to to wind speeds. And Irma there right now as a Cat 3 for a while, suckng up that energy from the warm ocean in terms of rainfall.

NOAA did calculations on energy of a hurricane:

Total energy released through cloud/rain formation:
5.2 x 10e19 Joules/day
or 6.0 x 10e14 Watts.

while

Total kinetic energy (wind energy) generated:

1.3 x 10e17 Joules/day
1.5 x 10e12 Watts.

http://www.aoml.noaa.gov/hrd/tcfaq/D7.html

That's a vast difference of energy released - more than a hundred times more as rain! I think that this is something we should be more aware of in terms of flooding and related water destruction, rather than just the emphasis of wind speeds.

National Hurricane Center

1. A tropical wave located several hundred miles southwest of the Cabo
Verde Islands is producing an area of disorganized showers and
thunderstorms that are currently displaced well to the west of the
wave axis. Environmental conditions are conducive for gradual
development during the next few days, and a tropical depression
could form by the end of the week while the system moves westward
to west-northwestward at about 10 mph over the tropical Atlantic
Ocean.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...near 0 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...medium...60 percent.

I wonder if the 2nd system could merge with Irma and form a huge Cat 5 hurricane

Of course! With one figure given locally and a much smaller figure reaching the destination.

Come on man! Another avenue to gang rape the treasury even more!

^^^Of course, right after the "administrators" take their cut.

Interesting how the foretasted tracks keep shifting westward. The current spaghetti models have the Florida Pan Handle collecting it right up the wazoo.
