Good for them. They prices just aren't competitive now.
Would serve them better to announce 5mb upgrade to everyone instead of doing it on the down low like that

One of the main reasons I never remained with them. All the time I was suffering with over priced 1mb then 2mb package and soon as flow reach and I ready to switch all of ah sudden they offering specials on a down low. Let them keep their sheit right there yes boy.

They rip off people with their monopoly for too long aswell. I am hoping C&W sell their 49% stake in TSTT soon aswell. I want to make sure I don't contribute to TSTT in anyway.

Yeah I didn't realize flow was FTTN

You know what the flow fiber to copper converter box looks like?

I see 2 box on the Pole by St Helena Junction. A smaller white box and a larger one, offcourse there is also a huge silver cabinet on the ground. I am thinking thats where the fiber ends?

However if it is this small long box then that mean fiber is on my street, I dunno you have a pic of what flow's fiber node looks like?

there are a couple of posts a few pages back with how to get torrents to download...basically turn on encryption and randomize your port on your client.

Noticing some really weird behaviour since I was switched to this MoCA modem/router. Basically I'm just passing through my data to my router... however I am noticing random down times every so often... I'd like to think I need to disable some more on the MoCA Modem. All I disabled was the wireless... My router has been assigned an IP by the Modem via DHCP. Do I have to disable DHCP and assign my router an IP manually? I miss the old modem :(

Go into the moca modem, search for the lan tab and take of NAT, the option to select is bridged mode. This will assign your router a public routable IP.

Thanks Shaq... I actually started digging and did a few changes:

basically what that video says and I however did not take off WAN DHCP since I know Flow uses a Dynamic IP for Users.

Initially I did not turn off the firewall etc. but i ended up doing it now since I use my own on the router itself.

I got super bummy when 192.168.100.1 did not load up the modem but in the toss up... I had it in plug 4 and not 1... Plugged it into 1 and bam... DDWRT picked up my IP and I was sorted..

I had flow on the line in case... was waiting a good 10 mins while I was freaking out.

/cs;b

We always complain about services in trinidad. But for the first time I want to commend one. FLOW. Internet went down at 9pm tonight. I called flow, and they said a truck pulled a line nearby. I informed them I have and exam tomorrow morning (which I really do) and they told me they would make an extra effort to get it fixed. Within the hour they were working on it and at 11pm the internet was back up and running.

BTW call center has no power in speeding up osp operations. Consider yourself lucky to have it fixed so fast...

This is amazing, when my TSTT line went down because of a truck, they took 2 months to come and have it sorted out which somehow started giving issues again because they were cutting down some old pole and it fell on my TSTT line. It didn't burst but it stretch the line or something and speeds went down hill dialup style.

Unable to wait another 2 months to have a tech come to my house (I was told it could take up to 3 months this time around) I opted for flow as they had just came into my area.

I found 2 to 3 months to be without internet access as utterly unacceptable in this day and age. I then signed up for flow, explained my situation and a contractor came to my house in 3 working days and I was up and running. I found that going from 3 months with TSTT to 3 days with flow a much more acceptable time frame. I am not sure if an actual issue would be resolved even faster as this was just a connection service.

LOL a new connection is different from a repair... Let your drop line get damaged and see how long it takes to have that fixed, especially when they have their "free install' promotions.. techs are swamped with work

^ I would assume it would be much faster than TSTT since FLOW don't have union workers marching for money everyday at their headquarters?

if a truck lick down a line how long do you estimate flow would take to come repair it? whats the worse timing story u ever heard? regardless of the answer I am still of the belief that everybody should abandon TSTT in favor of FLOW. FLOW needs the money to expand and provide Digital for everyone, we should help our brothers and sisters suffering in this country. Let us not support a company that secretly bills you for 5 months after you applied for a disconnection even though their policy is disconnect after 2 months of no pay but conveniently bills everyone who logs in a report for disconnection.

^1 month? so how that man get his one fixed in 1 day?

Its usually 2 to 3 months with TSTT. 1 month still seems a bit too long, I also know if you spam FLOW's facebook page they respond very quickly aswell.

Now I am not talking about the line coming to my house eh I meant like somewhere down the street if a truck lick down a flow line, won't the whole neighbourhood be out of flow service? I highly doubt they would take a month to fix the service of a whole street or neighbourhood. hmm

ow ho well I eh know then. Hopefully nothing ever happens to my line with no truck, also since there is Digicel around the corner they might beef up customer service for everyone. Plus C&W buy out flow so there is that aswell. Perhaps better service is in the horizon.

Tried forcing encryption in utorrent, random port and still topping out at 212kB/sec now.

Is it just the time of day or I did something wrong?
