That power draw upon initial start up is what is causing your low idle.
If it is so low that the car feels as if it wants to cut off, you might want to check your battery.
check battery...clean up the terminals and connections on both ground and positive side.
replace frayed / damaged cables and terminals.....yes it makes a difference.
ensure alternator is giving proper output.
as BH said the starting draw current is what gives that drop in idle temporarily.
also what you need to know is the stock alternator is rated to give enough power for stock equipment - normal headlight, stereos etc. when you upgrade your lighting to HID or your stereo to aftermarket with amplifiers and such you will also need to upgrade your electrical - ie big 3 upgrade and larger alternator and battery.
failing to do this you will see a reduced lifespan of your alternator and battery.
