Buying LG and Panasonic would also be an excellent choice. They both make their own AC aswell

Even York is outsourced to that garbage chinese factory that 90% of AC are made.

I think GREE makes their own Ac but can't be sure. Coldwave and Comfee etc etc are all garbage.
I have a Frigidaire and its Garbage.

Stay away from buying anything from pricesmart aswell. I bought my first split unit there and the circuit board blew in the first hour of use.

Everything sold there is of inferior quality somehow. Dunno if its old stock that never sold and they dump it in our very own Latin American dump portal.

gree is also a madea AC (chinese company) that makes almost 90% of the garbage we get here.

but to be honest the all work pretty fine ....... what you need to look at is the quality and service of the company you buying it from .... to many fly by night AC companies out there that wont stock parts or keep there warranties.

my advice... buy a reputable brand AC r410a gas inverter type from any reputable company with 5 years warranty parts and labor and you will be ok

expect to pay more

yeah is true they work well if serviced.

Lots of fly by night AC places now that refuse to honor warranty and stock parts. My neighbor bought one of those delta pro AC for $2300 for 12k BTU

However the fan is not as fast as a LG that is the inside fan. I guess its a lower quality fan motor or something.

A slow fan motor would be bad for those with dry skin issues because the AC would remove too much moisture. So something to consider

Samsung might have countless models all doing the same thing with very little changes.

Then they would have mini versions to all current models.

whatever new air-conditioner you are buying just make sure it runs on R410 and not R22 gas.

R22 is not used in the US again and with new environmental compliance here in T&T R22 will become difficult to get or very expensive and parts for R22 units like compressors and valves will be difficult to get.

I was just about to buy a 12,00 BTU Panasonic split unit and I was advised not to because they are R22 units. I'll wait for the Panasonic R410 units.
