Zod was not released because Krypton was destroyed. There was no "ship" as a prison. Jonathon did not die like that, and Zod is not killed. Alongside of the poor character building of Lois, the movie was ok.
If I was not a fan tho.....this movie was fantastic!

This is the Superman the world needs, not a drama whose star happens to have powers.

I wont delve into quite how retarded that sounded but anyway, I already watched the 10 seasons and currently re-watching them.

Actually I'm very glad they deviated from the original movies and comics.
Lack of Fresh thinking and same ole boring storylines from before is what I think killed the appeal of superman right up to the last movie a few years ago.
In this movie, I like that he is still coming to terms with himself and his difficulty in controlling his emotions, so much so that he had a sort of dark side. Especially as he had to take a life. It makes him seem human with these flaws and not a sickening goody two shoes as was portrayed in all shows before.
Note carefully that MOS is ground zero for all upcoming DC movies, not the three batman movies as was stated by goyer himself. Note the subtle hints at Wayne enterprises satellite, and lex corp trucks used in the show.
I believe that a new fresh fan base will be built, with some older fans crossing over.

agreed, usually cringe at the typical talknah "reviews" about movies on this board but cot damn MoS was a 10/10 based on sheer entertainment value alone.

Soul Collector wrote:I didnt mean loose ends really. I just wished we got to see more clark being clark, interacting with people more. Just talking and seeing how he gets along with others. It had that scene from the truck stop which was nice, just wished it had more. I wished they just talked about the suit for like 1 minute lol. But in the sequels there will be plenty of time to see him interact with the ppl in the daily planet. Cant wait to see it again later

The fact that he NOW discovers who he is and just then learns to fly, yet he is able to beat a born and bred soldier, who, despite only discovering powers himself, should easily vanquish a lowly 'civilian'. Imagine if you are a regular guy from earth that suddenly has to battle multiple trained soldiers from earth... you would not fare well at all.
The suit: Where did the suit come from ? Superman was supposed to have been sent to Earth with his own clothes... fine... change that detail, but the suit on that old ship came from where ? Did they have some kind of super 3D printer on board the 18,000 year old craft that Jor-El uploaded himself to ?
There was a lot of time to develop the script... the effects and fight scenes are covered by others... so why not put the work into the script... the superman movies of the 70's and 80's, as cheesy as they looked, had enough depth to keep it interesting...
