^^Not brainiac. They supposed to be a nod to the helpers Kal-El have in the fortress of solitude. One was Kelex & the next was Kelor

Saw it. Twas great story but not as Bess as it could be. To me he beginning was too crammed up. It that is all. THey crammed up a back story. It did not progress in a harmonious way.
I don't know how the comics explain him being of he same biology as humans. But a forgotten exploration party is cool

I think they got all the characters well done, and well written.

This should have been longer

^^ In alot of reviews ppl were bitching about the length but I could have sat through a full 3 hours (or even more). And yeah, I really wish they delved into alot of certain aspects more but, I think overall, they did the best they could in the time they had.

I think the sequels will delve into stuff alot more, but can you imagine if kyrpton never blew up and he got to go back there for an epic battle with zod or brainiac? Man that would have been so cool :(

I just bought my tix to go back and watch it @ imax again 2mrw woot woot

Hmnn, I'm not seeing many loose ends. I know why kalel is special, I know why he got the suit, I understand why zod would be the way he is, I know why he would take his actions, I know why zod would be able to escape Tue phantom zone

I didnt mean loose ends really. I just wished we got to see more clark being clark, interacting with people more. Just talking and seeing how he gets along with others. It had that scene from the truck stop which was nice, just wished it had more. I wished they just talked about the suit for like 1 minute lol. But in the sequels there will be plenty of time to see him interact with the ppl in the daily planet. Cant wait to see it again later :wiggle:

^ You can still watch Smallville.

This is the Superman the world needs, not a drama whose star happens to have powers.

Actually I'm very glad they deviated from the original movies and comics.
Lack of Fresh thinking and same ole boring storylines from before is what I think killed the appeal of superman right up to the last movie a few years ago.

In this movie, I like that he is still coming to terms with himself and his difficulty in controlling his emotions, so much so that he had a sort of dark side. Especially as he had to take a life. It makes him seem human with these flaws and not a sickening goody two shoes as was portrayed in all shows before.

Note carefully that MOS is ground zero for all upcoming DC movies, not the three batman movies as was stated by goyer himself. Note the subtle hints at Wayne enterprises satellite, and lex corp trucks used in the show.
I believe that a new fresh fan base will be built, with some older fans crossing over.

Smallville really spoilt the Superman image IMO. IMO it seems to go perfectly inline with what you wanted out of the latest film.

Sorry you suffered butthurt.

think another reason could be that some people are dead set on complaining about MOS, even if their complaint makes absolutely no sense, just because this Superman doesn't have red draws

Smallville was real bullshiet. MOS was excellent imo. My only concern is how they intend to top that. I can't see lex Luther being exciting after seeing superman fighting kryptonians

exactly I went cc8 to see this movie twice :) Faora totally steals the show in the movie! I swear it was love at 1st sight :D I like how she was kicking supes tail & said "You're weak, son of El, and sure of yourself" :P I hope Lex finds a way to free her in Man of Steel Rises :o

Smallville was smallville. If you want the real hardcore superman stuff, go read the comics. They had nice easter eggs in tribute of smalliville in MoS. Some actors from smallville were in the movie as well. Even one of the kyrptonians acted as Lex on smallville iirc.

And as for Lex coming into the sequel, I can see how. From a review I read, a guy pointed out that if you notice at the end of the show where Clark dons the glasses inside the daily planet, it seems that the city is somehow rebuilt and back to normal within no time. In this new world, Goyer said Lex is going to be very different, he is going to be Bill Gates kind of rich worth maybe almost 100bn.

With that, Lex could have helped rebuilt the city, highlighting the damage superman did and his disregard for human life etc etc (All the ppl dying were very well justified IMO btw). He might try to turn the ppl against superman. Its just one way to look at it.

Just came back seeing it in IMAX for my 2nd time. Man....the opening on krypton was down right amazing. Duno if I was more excited to see it this time or the 1st :D

Don't read comics. You must have been a teenaged girl when the Smallville series started. MOS going from all out action to a debate between lex and supes doesn't seem like a good movie to me.

I've been a Superman fan since i was small. I like the reboot - 'twas 100X better than that brandon routh crap.

Caville does a decent job at being Superman. IT had something for everyone - lots of action and drama.

so what if the storyline did not follow the comics to a T. it that was the case we would be watchign the same movie over and over and over again every time they dod a new one.

I enjoyed the movie, have seen it twice and would watch again... but it's just that there are still some holes in the adaptation that bother me.

The fact that he NOW discovers who he is and just then learns to fly, yet he is able to beat a born and bred soldier, who, despite only discovering powers himself, should easily vanquish a lowly 'civilian'. Imagine if you are a regular guy from earth that suddenly has to battle multiple trained soldiers from earth... you would not fare well at all.

The suit: Where did the suit come from ? Superman was supposed to have been sent to Earth with his own clothes... fine... change that detail, but the suit on that old ship came from where ? Did they have some kind of super 3D printer on board the 18,000 year old craft that Jor-El uploaded himself to ?

There was a lot of time to develop the script... the effects and fight scenes are covered by others... so why not put the work into the script... the superman movies of the 70's and 80's, as cheesy as they looked, had enough depth to keep it interesting...

Too many things in one movie. The last days of krypton as imagined here could have made a movie by it self starring jorel. It was just done that well.

As a movie this wasn't so concise, but it is quite a trip. This was just as good a reimagining as Ang Lee's hulk. But too much awesomeness

During the 2nd viewing, in all seriousness, I was thinking if they would even consider a prequel located on krypton because that world was so well done. And it seems I wasnt the only one -

Lex is like Batman if he was villain. He is brilliant, he has billions of dollars & he builds himself suits & tech & robot bodyguards to go sprawling with Supes. Actually, I guess you can think of him more like an evil Tony Stark (Iron Man)

Remember when Zod gets control of his power, he just lost all his people. His soul was taken from him, as he says. He not gonna be thinking clearly about how to make a tactical approach to beat Superman. At this point now, he just throwing punches.
In Smallville when he was fighting Faora & Nam-Ek all they had was strength & speed increase & Superman wasn't exactly winning. He was barely holding out.

(BTW, anyone else notice the homage to the lines "Faster than a speeding bullet. More powerful than a locomotive" during this scene?)

As for the suit problem. Remember that ship was part of a bigger fleet sent out to discover new habitable worlds for Kryptonians. The ship carried lots of babies with it that would populate the new planet (I think they're shown in the scene with Zod & Jor-El on the ship). Those kids would need clothes one day. The ship's crew would need clothes too. The ship had that tech. Jor-El's consciousness on the ship made the suit for his son.
