So I know its been a while since a real update but here it is....

Image

So thats the van as it is right now.... Everything works...Had a time with 4WD and trying to get that part to work on the van but figured it out eventually....And now the van has 4lo, 4hi and the indicator works also.....Power windows, locks, mirrors and even the shift lock works.....Got some 35" Mudstar Tyres on old school 15" offroad rims. They fitted with no modification....A little too close to the tray though as seen below....

Image

So now we're going to modify the tray a bit...Raise it about 4" and make it a bit more "pleasing to the naked eye" lol....

Image
Testing out the 4wd without the tray.

The rugged ridge FWH worked out perfectly....

So up next is to modify the radiator a bit, Change the windscreen, get the tray back on and painted, finish the interior, exhaust and van running. Work in progress!!!!

So we have cleaned the part of the chassis where the tray rested with a wire cup brush and grinder and painted with red oxide. This will serve as the surface coat as Gravitek is on the way.

Have done an upgrade also on the front drum brakes that these came stock with.....Upgraded to disc brakes however Solid Disc....Have some surf vented discs to install. When the van comes home I'll do that...

Tray has to be cut still but work will be done on it soon.....

Stay Tuned

Wouldn't it be better to put the rubberized coating on the bare prepared metal as the red oxide may have the tendency to peel off?

No chassis come bare metal. They are all hot dipped before sale. What we did was take of whatever surface rust and dirt there was, which wasn't much anyway. Then we covered the entire thing in red oxide. Gravitek is coming but not yet. And we will coat with layers of stuff so no worries.

Ok, time for more updates. So because the tray was so close to the tyres we had to lift it. At the same time we redesigned the tray and the bar. So hold some pics for now....

So.....I drove it home. That was the first time the van came home since it came home when I bought it Last Year in April......The bar isn't finished yet so when thats done I'll post up a pic with that. Thanks to the work done in the redesign by Khameel Hosein of Side B. And ofcourse the cheif engineer Droppa. Still has alot of work to do but working right now. Cross Over steering, 3" custom exhaust, some daylighters to install, fan controller, winch and front bumper etc....I have already installed the remaining dashboard parts and finishers etc.... So....That's it for now. BTW the KZ wukking....On the 35" it running without much effort.....

Talk about an epic view.. reversing this machine without the tray on was a breeze when you could see EVERYTHING in the rear! Was fun watching the suspension work.. lol

BTW the KZ wukking....On the 35" it running without much effort.....

No joke here, was able to start off on a 20deg incline in high range 2wd without any problems.. This will be pressure to beat off road..
