A PORT OF SPAIN magistrate told an army private he had embarrassed the Trinidad and Tobago Regiment when he decided to display indecent behaviour by having sex with his girlfriend in a public place.
The soldier, 24-year-old Keston Isaac, and the woman, Giselle Sylvester, 27, reappeared before Chief Magistrate Marcia Ayers-Caesar in the Eighth Court yesterday morning.
They were both arrested on Carnival Friday evening after police officers noticed them having sexual intercourse in a parked car along Lady Young Road in Morvant.
They first appeared in court on Carnival Monday and pleaded guilty but the matter was adjourned to yesterday as the facts in the matter were not available upon their first appearance.
When the matter was called yesterday, police prosecutor Sgt Ricky Lochan told the court, at around 6 p.m. on Carnival Friday, police officers were on patrol along Lady Young Road, close to the Hilton Hotel, when they noticed a car parked at the side of the roadway.
The officers, Lochan said, noticed movements inside the vehicle and decided to investigate. Upon approaching the parked vehicle, Lochan said the officers noticed both Isaac, of Fatman Lane, Morvant, and Sylvester, of Piggott Street, Belmont, naked.
The officers further noticed that Isaac was lying on top of the woman and observed a gyrating movement along their hip areas, said Lochan.
When the officers told the couple of the offence they had committed, the woman replied: "That is meh man and we taking a chance," said the prosecutor. They were both ordered to dress and taken to the Belmont station where the charge was laid.
When questioned by Ayers-Caesar why they did not find a secure location to perform the act, they both responded that they had gotten "caught up in the moment" and "it was at the spur of the moment".
The magistrate proceeded to reprimand and discharge them both, saying she believed that the couple had suffered sufficient embarrassment.
Ayers-Caesar added that she was of the opinion that the Regiment would also issue the necessary punishment to the soldier.

thats not an embarrassment in my book...thats human nature.....its not like they were on the street naked....like some ah them half naked ppl on carnival monday and tuesday wining down the place in vulgar positions.....

police were wicked enough to take them to the station and lay charges.....

at least the magistrate let them off with just a warning though...
