Under all seriousness though, their prices are pretty competitive compared to the Japanese competition, given the engine and equipment that their cars come with. Drove in the Tiguan Sport 2.0, and have to say it pulled quite surprisingly for an SUV with the 2.0 turbo and 7 speed DSG - I was impressed with it, compared to a RAV4 or CRV. Handled very nicely for an SUV as well, nice firm (not harsh) ride with controlled body roll. The sales rep said it was cheaper than the RAV4 too.dredman1 wrote:Tiguan Sport 2.0L TSI (210hp) $393,445

the 2013 RAV4 and Corolla should be out late this year... both would be new designs.

the RAV4 starts @ $290K and goes up to $357K... all with a 2.4 engine, and widerbody than the 2008-2011 models.

Not so sure how much wider the body is but it's definitely a longer wheel base. I believe with the Rav-4 2WD Basic Allow version is going for $284,000 at the moment ONLY for the models that are in stock. (part of their 45th Anniv. special).
They are all 2.4l and feel a lot more torquey than the 2.0 model ... I was quite surprised...
