Decking pan is about $24-$25 a square foot and is self supporting.
Normal decking is way cheaper.

R Maye hardware has a sale on 20 gauge decking sheets. $17/foot V.I.
Cheapest I've found so far.

deck pan is a quick job once your beams are in order and level,is just a matter of putting on the deck pan welding it to stay in place in staggered spaces, welding crabs to hold the brc suspended with some steel, running electrical and stuff and just pouring concrete on,as opposed to decking, renting ply, buying lumber to nail ply on to,getting bamboo props, tying steel which takes real time, same electrial stuff,oh and waiting almost a month for decking to cure,,,,,

Decking pan cheaper initially but you will have to ciel under the decking for it to look good which is cost later on with normal decking if done properly just filler with gypsum compound and paint.

Well it look like the tuition might be more sorely lacking..............

4" slab should be more than adequate for residential purposes. Use pre-mixed if'n you can afford it.

i told d man call me inno, all that would've been explained, or even emailed. Hoss you just cant go about something if you or your builder dont know about it. Suppose he does sumn wrong? who would know? you?

Remember you spending YOUR money, you hadda spend it good. Build the decking properly,if you call and find out,I wont charge you inno.

Best advice here. Learn about construction, not necessarily with a view to doing it yourself, but to make sure it's properly done!
