How many... "ah hear" threads you ever seen me make on chuna since 2004?

My advice is make a brief scan through my post history and try again. If I am saying this, it's because it will come to be. I don't do this often is my whole point...I wouldn't do this unless I had some kinda backing.

Does anyone know if there are any arrangements for students who graduate at the top of their class at the Bachelors level to get scholarships to study at the Masters level?

Question

What exactly was the racist comment that RASC made that got him banned?

I haven't been on the forums for quite some time now so I am not to up to date on what drama took place. After I realized how RASC lied about every single thing and all the dirty anti PP threads he made I figured he was being paid to do this or something. Or he probably was just a 14 year old causing mischief.

Just look how he lied about having a secret source telling him the government going and kill GATE. and you know something he almost had me.

I actually taught the man had connections in the government and thing and he really had inside info.

In the end I guess he was just a troll.

RASC actually made me retire from all the politics in my life. I couldn't take it anymore all the lies and lies he kept making up I realized its the internet and we will always have little boys pretending to be big men because the internet after all is the place where you count on the honesty of a keyboard.

I always knew RASC didn't give a sheit about the honest good people of this country. He was all about being bias to the People's Partnership its is no different from the woman from the Betham who said she does have to drink drain water but she go vote PNM till she dead.

I think there is something more about RASC that we did not know. He spent way to much time bashing the PP and defending the PNM. No sane person in this world would waste their life on the internet doing this unless they were paid. Or unless they lived in a basement and absolutely had no life.

I remember a few months ago a tuner said RASC is part of a special group that the PNM pays to come on the internet and call in radio stations and say nasty things about the PP and defend the PNM.

After seeing how he lied and everything that came out of his mouth was a lie I think I understand now.

Regardless if he was being paid by the PNM or if he was just a basement dweller I couldn't care less. I let him have his forum and I let him spend 90% of his life bashing the PP on the internet wasting his life away. I spent most of that time renovating my house and I feel good about that and I am glad that even if RASC decides to come back it won't bother me by all means he can create as much threads as he wants I won't be reading or replying to any of them.

Well laters there people I am out for good and here is a successful 5 years of new government hopefully the new ideas and change that we see shall help all us hard working trinis live a better life. Something RASC never believed in he was to coward to be honest he was filled with a lot of hate and in some ways I feel sorry for the man. AS the great Gandhi said.

A coward is incapable of exhibiting love; it is the prerogative of the brave.

Crackdown on delinquent Gate students

The National Commission for Higher Education will be charged with the responsibility of reviewing the Government Assistance for Tuition Expenses (Gate) programme to deal with delinquent tertiary level students who fail to complete courses. The position is being taken by Minister of Science, Technology and Tertiary Education Fazal Karim who admits that the programme, which cost taxpayers a staggering $2 billion over the last six years, was faced with a number of issues, from lack of strict monitoring, proper management to implementation. “We are now putting things in place to close those gaps. Gate money was wasted because there were few mechanisms in place to track delinquent students who failed to complete courses or who failed them repeatedly and subsequently enrolled in courses funded by the taxpayer,” said Karim.

The Minister disclosed, as well, that records at his ministry showed that there was a high number of dropouts in programmes, while training providers have been saying that their records indicate otherwise. Karim was responding to reports that plans are being put in place by his ministry to have students pay for courses they have failed. “This ministry has no policy or has not determined any policy of how many times you failed you will be offered Gate.” Karim promised to have a review of Gate, stating that the National Commission for Higher Education will be mandated to undertake the task. “As soon as the commission is in place and the review of Gate takes place we will put that out in the public domain and at the end of the day we will come up with a policy with the approval of Cabinet.”

Karim: We will not support failure
Speaking at his St James office on Wednesday, Karim said his ministry would not continue to support failure. “That is, if you continue to fail your courses, what you are doing is denying deserving people from entering the programme. “If you continue to fail these courses and the Government continues to pay for your failure, then, what is the incentive and motivation for you to perform better?” Karim said the longer a student stayed at a tertiary level institution, the longer he/she would take to graduate. In some universities outside of T&T, Karim noted, students who failed their first course are given another chance to write the exam.

However, if the student fails at the second attempt, that person is called upon to pay for the course if they want to do over the exam. Karim said while students may fail an examination for any number of reasons, for too long there have been high levels of expenditure and wastage in programmes at the expense of the taxpayer. “The onus of the Government is to ensure that we have accountability and efficiency to prevent leakages as was in the past. We are not about failure, but success.” Karim noted that while he worked at the University of the West Indies, St Augustine campus, prior to Gate, he said some students who pursued degree courses and religiously failed were asked to withdraw for a year as a measure of correction, remediation and recompense.

"Payed" is the correct spelling as is "Paid".

The world is getting smaller and you need to come to grips with different spelling of the same thing being correct.

I understand the grammar of it, but I'm just saying people can use payed if they are referring to the past-participle of "pay"... as opposed to using "paid" as past-tense of the verb to "pay" or "paying."

i.e. the grammar might be wrong, but the spelling is correct.

e.g
I pay for my sins.
I paid for my sins.
I had paid for my sins.
I had payed my sins.
I am paying for my sins.

Ah yes ! the grammar was wrong for most of us. But because it's the internet, it's like me getting angry for someone spelling "grey" as "gray", when (for those in the industry) one refers to the mix of colors, while the other refers to the lack of color, but still can be used the same way.

e.g.
1. We need to add more grey into the background.
2. We need to gray the background out more.

And yes I will shut up now :)
