almost all national teams have a name they go by as well as club teams
the name has nothing to do with the results..it is more than that

Me eh know 'bout the savage thing nuh. It was alright all the time and when we made it to Germany every Tom, Dick and Beharry was singin' they was a Soca Warrior and a Fighter. So wha' 'appen now?

If anything it was unoriginal, a cheap rip-off of the "Reggae Boyz" moniker.

It's kinda like how they named "Bollywood" after "Hollywood" only not as stupid.

So the question is: If not the "Soca Warriors," what then :?:

What de hell is a soca warrior exactly?...if i was playing for Italy and i hear we playin some team called soca warriors...i'd be like LOL...matter of fact they call us soccer warriors...noone gives a sh1t bout soca...soca is backward and lost its identity long time ago since it started meshing with jamaican dancehall and culture

Why do people insist in holding onto this primitive and savage past?

And to hear these idiots saying we should return to kaisoca soccer...my goodness...seems the world is progressing and trinidad is going back into time :?

lol look at the list here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_na ... ll_(soccer)_teams_by_nickname

I say fack the name, results are all that matters.

+ for jus 'T&T' nice and simple

We're already called that. The moniker is something to make the team more recognizable...like...Jamaica's Reggae Boyz and Italy's "Azzuri" ... :|

pioneer wrote:And umm...i still wasn't support no "soca warriors" back in 06 eh...so take yuh time

That wasn't you rubbin' up with Bungi on stage?...:?

I think there was a subconscious desire to move away from it, for as much as people liked the "Strike Squad" the name inevitably evoked painful memories of Nov. 19, 1989.

Soca Warriors wasn't even considered before Jamaica's success at the '98 WC.

Not sure if we even had an official moniker during the interim...:|

One in particular - Radanfah Abu Bakr. Dat boi shitty for days... He score the first then the next 2 goals was due to his INABILITY to close down the scorer. Iz bess he go and wipe windscreens by Westmall or in front he fadder mosque.

He was never good even whilst playing for QRC. How he reach dey? Only Jack knows!!!
