Sn0wBreeze is a new project aiming to bring PwnageTool functionality to Windows computers by October 12th.

Several hours ago iH8sn0w tweeted some details about the upcoming software...

The new project that we are working on is sn0wbreeze. It is basically PwnageTool for Windows. Our ETA is October 12.

We will ask for Beta Testers as soon as we have a stable build ready!

It will be pretty much everything the the Mac version of PwnageTool can do atm.

Adobe on Monday announced partnerships with numerous handset operating system makers, including Research in Motion, Nokia, Palm, Google and Microsoft, to bring Flash Player 10.1 to smartphones. Absent from the list: Apple.

Flash 10.1 is expected to be available as a public beta for Google Android and Nokia's Symbian OS in early 2010. Developer betas of the browser-based runtime will be available for Windows Mobile and Palm webOS later this year. No date was given for BlackBerry devices.

Adobe said that the new mobile version of Flash offers accelerated video and graphics capabilities while conserving battery life. The new player offers streaming video in HD and browser-based Web applications.

"With Flash Player moving to new mobile platforms, users will be able to experience virtually all Flash technology based Web content and applications wherever they are," said David Wadhwani, general manager and vice president, Platform Business Unit at Adobe. "We are excited about the broad collaboration of close to 50 industry leaders in the Open Screen Project and the ongoing collaboration with 19 out of the top 20 handset manufacturers worldwide. It will be great to see first devices ship with full Flash Player in the first half of next year."

Of course, the elusive twentieth manufacturer missing from Adobe's lineup is Apple.

Though the iPhone is not included among the handsets, past reports have suggested that Adobe hopes to bring it to the platform. If that were to happen, though, Flash would have to overcome its various shortcomings on mobile devices as perceived by Apple co-founder Steve Jobs.

With Flash 10.1, Adobe aims to have cross-compatibility with PCs, smartphones, netbooks and a range of devices with various screen sizes. The effort is a part of the company's Open Screen Project initiative, which includes more than 50 companies.

Though Flash is still not available on the iPhone, Adobe announced Monday that developers will be able to export their applications created in the format within CS5 for submission to Apple's App Store.

Accordingly, Adobe launched its new "Applications for iPhone" Web page, touting the ability to build applications for the iPhone and iPod touch using ActionScript 3. The page shows three applications that were created via Flash and ported to the iPhone OS as native software.

"We've done a lot of work to make sure that applications are quick and interactive, and give you the kind of experience that you would expect from Flash, as well as the kind of experience that you've come to expect on your iPhone," said Adrian Ludwig, a member of Adobe's Flash team.

The applications currently available on the App Store are Chroma Circuit, Trading Stuff, Fickleblox, Just Letters, South Park, That Roach Game and Red Hood. All were created with a pre-relse build of Flash Professional CS5.

"What developers have to do is they have to go inside of Flash Pro and they have to export that project to a native application for the iPhone," Ludwig said. "While you're using Flash Pro to build these applications, it's being converted from .SWF to .IPA."

He noted that the method is in compliance with the iPhone developer agreement, which means the software can be submitted to the App Store for approval. The feature will be available for both PC and Mac, and a public beta is planned for later this year.



Earlier Monday, Adobe announced that Flash Player 10.1 was coming to most major smartphones including handsets from Research in Motion, Nokia and Palm. But absent from that list was Apple.

Adobe has said in the past that it hopes to bring Flash to the iPhone, though Monday's announcements would suggest that will not likely happen anytime soon.

GeoHot has posted picture evidence of a jailbroken third generation iPod Touch to his blog.

For those waiting eagerly to jailbreak their iPhones and iPods, GeoHot plans to release the jailbreak tool within the next day or so.

The exploit should work for every version of iPhone OS including OS 3.1.

Apple on Thursday released an update to the iPhone OS, bringing it to version 3.1.2. The minor update reportedly fixes a handful of issues with the software.

According to Apple, the update -- which applies to the iPhone, iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS -- has the following improvements:

Resolves sporadic issue that may cause iPhone to not wake from sleep

Resolves intermittent issue that may interrupt cellular network services until restart

Fixes bug that could cause occasional crash during video streaming

The update, which weighs in at over 200MB, can be downloaded through iTunes. A corresponding update for the iPod touch was also released.

A month ago, Apple released iPhone OS 3.1, which debuted a number of new features, including a Genius recommendation system for software in the App Store. It also added ringtones from record labels, directly into the iTunes application on the phone.

WARNING! At 10.20AM PDT on October 8th 2009 Apple released the 3.1.2 version (7D11) of the iPhoneOS.

If you care about your jailbreak and unlock, don’t update your device - 3G and 3G(S) owners should pay particular attention to this warning.

Each time Apple releases a new firmware update, many people accidentally update to the newer firmware. This has not really mattered, until the iPhone 3GS and the iPod 3rd gen were released. Apple can patch the exploits for the iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 3rd gen, so these users need to be careful. People who have iPhone unlocks don’t need to worry about the 05.11.07 baseband—it can be unlocked. Once the appuloha1l team releases ferociousbird (the 05.11.07 unlock), Apple can quickly fix the exploit. We wanted to prepare you all for this!

In order to use appuloha1l (the jailbreak program) or ferociousbird (the 05.11.07 software unlock) you must install ha1ltunes.

What is ha1ltunes?

You know when you check for firmware updates through iTunes and it automatically shows you the new update (i.e. firmware 3.2.1 is available for download)? ha1ltunes intercepts that. ha1ltunes will not show that update message, instead it will show the update message with a download button pointing to the latest appuloha1l or ferociousbird download and jailbreak instructions. We know, many of you know not to update but new jailbreakers that use our tools don’t! In the future ha1ltunes will include a lot more useful features, but for now we’re rushing to complete our deadline.

Wow. xavier is on a roll! He has discovered another exploit which works for the iPhone 3GS & iPod Touch 3rd gen. Chronic dev team, geohot, and our appuloha1l team discovered the same usb_control_message exploit. All of our software uses this one exploit, which Apple can fix easily in a future update.

The new exploit xavier discovered is called h1ssingsnake and will be released on a h1ssing day. We will save this exploit for a future firmware release. In case Apple patches the current exploit (which we have a really strong feeling they will) we will release the h1ssingsnake. The h1ssingsnake is slithering, don’t tempt it Apple! Note, ha1ltunes users will be protected even if Apple patches the current exploit.

Let’s hope you don’t have to wait for a h1ssing day.

Ok. So I tested blackra1n on 3.1 / 5.11.07 and it jailbreaks the 3gs quick and easy.

Don't waste time with purplera1n (also by geohot). That stuck the phone in restore mode. Maybe I didn't read the fine print.

Also tried the Photoshop app listed above. It's really good for a mobile app. Easy to use, some nice features and it's free. Don't expect it to replace Photoshop on your mac/pc.
