If you care about your jailbreak and unlock, don’t update your device - 3G and 3G(S) owners should pay particular attention to this warning.
PwnageTool and redsn0w are not yet compatible with 3.1.2
There is no estimated release time for compatible tools (please don’t bug us about this).
Any information we have regarding this update will be posted here.

The bird is out of the cage!
ferociousbird
Presenting: ferociousbird! Today the ferocious bird is out of it’s cage! When Apple released the iPhone 3.1 update on September 9, many iPhone users foolishly updated to firmware 3.1 and were stuck without an unlock. ferociousbird is a new soft unlock for baseband 05.11.07. It will work on all iPhones including iPhone 3GS OTB. Can you hear the bird flapping? This is the ferocious bird, it won’t give up without a fight Apple!
Credits
appuloha1l team member apple originally discovered the ferociousbird exploit, and xavier helped him build the soft unlock.
ferociousbird will be launched on ha1l day, the same day appuloha1l will be released (Sunday). Stay tuned! Tomorrow we’ll do a live video demo of ferociousbird at 8 PM PST. Video and live stream link will be posted here on http://appulo.tumblr.com. Follow @ferociousbird and also follow @appuloha1l for updates.
# why no blackra1n tonight...i still have to write a ramdisk side kernel patcher, ipt3 is perplexing, gotta figure out how to use itunes usbabout 1 hour ago from web
# Will @geohot @blackra1n beat appuloha1l? we'll see on ha1l day! Oh and we agree with @MuscleNerd, @ih8sn0w sn0wbreeze is just vaporware.5:09 PM Oct 7th from web
It is ha1ling! Bring it on Apple.
ha1ltunes
Each time Apple releases a new firmware update, many people accidentally update to the newer firmware. This has not really mattered, until the iPhone 3GS and the iPod 3rd gen were released. Apple can patch the exploits for the iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 3rd gen, so these users need to be careful. People who have iPhone unlocks don’t need to worry about the 05.11.07 baseband—it can be unlocked. Once the appuloha1l team releases ferociousbird (the 05.11.07 unlock), Apple can quickly fix the exploit. We wanted to prepare you all for this!
In order to use appuloha1l (the jailbreak program) or ferociousbird (the 05.11.07 software unlock) you must install ha1ltunes.
What is ha1ltunes?
You know when you check for firmware updates through iTunes and it automatically shows you the new update (i.e. firmware 3.2.1 is available for download)? ha1ltunes intercepts that. ha1ltunes will not show that update message, instead it will show the update message with a download button pointing to the latest appuloha1l or ferociousbird download and jailbreak instructions. We know, many of you know not to update but new jailbreakers that use our tools don’t! In the future ha1ltunes will include a lot more useful features, but for now we’re rushing to complete our deadline.
When?
ha1l day (Sunday), along with appuloha1l and ferociousbird.

The snake is H1ssing. Beware of the snake Apple!
h1ssingsnake
Wow. xavier is on a roll! He has discovered another exploit which works for the iPhone 3GS & iPod Touch 3rd gen. Chronic dev team, geohot, and our appuloha1l team discovered the same usb_control_message exploit. All of our software uses this one exploit, which Apple can fix easily in a future update.
The new exploit xavier discovered is called h1ssingsnake and will be released on a h1ssing day. We will save this exploit for a future firmware release. In case Apple patches the current exploit (which we have a really strong feeling they will) we will release the h1ssingsnake. The h1ssingsnake is slithering, don’t tempt it Apple! Note, ha1ltunes users will be protected even if Apple patches the current exploit.
Let’s hope you don’t have to wait for a h1ssing day.

Mmmm..... chocolatera1n!
appuloha1l team member jay has been working on a seperate project called chocolatera1n. appuloha1l is a easy to use jailbreak, but chocolatera1n is more advanced.
Here is what chocolatera1n has:
* A better ui than appuloha1l, but it is not a 1 click jailbreak
* In the future if Apple blocks the usb exploit used by appuloha1l, only chocolatera1n will support the h1ssingsnake exploit.
* Custom boot logo option
* Download Cydia packages right from chocolatera1n
* Hacktivation support
* No need to download a new chocolatera1n, you can update chocolatera1n from the update menu whenever a new chocolatera1n is out.
* and a lot more…
appuloha1l will be released on Sunday, but chocolatera1n is coming on Monday.

iPhone 3GS users: Sit back, relax, and drink bananam1lkshake!
bananam1lkshakeHey iPhone 3G S users, while waiting for ha1l day (Sunday) we wanted to give you one last surprise. We had planned all these releases in advance, and thought out how to combat Apple’s dirty unjailbreaking tactics.
iPhone 3GS users, here is a new tool called bananam1lkshake. In case Apple fixes the iPhone 3GS USB exploit AND the h1ssingsnake exploit, we have a back up plan. Once jailbroken, always jailbroken. bananam1lkshake saves your ECID and stores your SHSH blobs on our server and your desktop (in case we loose it) for a bananam1lkshake day. This is just a simple tool which didn’t take us much time to make. Jay was bored so he decided to make it, so thank him! Sit back, relax, and hopefully you won’t have to wait for a bananaml1kshake day but know that we’re prepared.
