well guys...... i got an update for you
Last Friday i took the wifey around to sterling motors cause i wanted to show her the ugly ass pickup cause she didnt know what i was talking about (mind you, just to show her how ugly it was, nothing more)
so we met the sales guy Christian and hats off to him we was the best salesman u dealt with for a long time, the guy knew his product and most questions were answered, also very cooperative
anyways
Interior
so the wife see the actyon and was "Wow i really like it" i was taken aback but we continued to check it out, not i must say this vehicle is very impressive, the version they bringing in is a automatic with 6FD tiptronic, 2.0L Turbo, its a ssangyoung engine utilizing Benz technology according to the sales rep.
Now the interior is really great its very comfortable and roomy and has a very high quality feel inside, (similar to a benz interior), it has a whole lot of features, audio and Transmission controls on the steering, pleanty other bells and wistles, alarms for everything, light on, seatbelt etc. it even has a singlasses holder in the hood. It comes with LSD, ABS, (Not sure about EBD), dual air bags and... FRONT AND REAR DISK BRAKES

)
what i didnt like about the interior, limited cup holders in front and none in the back.
The Exterior
Well we all know how the front looks but i saw the black and it actually not so bad in black, and i think if one can find a chrome grille or get thiers chromed somehow to replace the body paint grille it will look really good.
There is a built in SEMI duraliner from the factory which i idint like cause it dosent cover the whole tray and to me it's not durable, i think what happened is that the try is not dual wall and this duraliner thingy was just placed to block and protect the cavity so you still gonna have to install a proper bed liner, also there is no real bumper in the rear, it's like those american trucks otherwise it looks pretty solid and durable it also comming with Sidesteps, fogs and get this 18" factory alloys
What i didnt like about the exterior
-well the front of course is a bit weird althoug i must admit i growing on me
- the single lined construction on the tray
- no real rear bumper
So after checking out the actyon, and with my wife saying how much she likes it and that the front not ugly but rather posh we decided to take a test drive which we got on the spot and that was really nice seeing that you have to schedule a test drive at the other dealerships
so we on the road with the wife in the back, and the first thing i noticed is that the pickup is very powerfull and has a real sweet pulloff and acceleration, i havent driven anything else yet to compare but my foot heave and i was totally satisfied, the only thing was that when u mash there is a lil delay before it responds, now the sales guy said that was "turbo lag" and is normal with all pickups, now i dont know any better cause i new to deisel so i will wait to hear what you guys have to say on that
so this powerfully little 2.0 was much fun to drive we went up lady chancellor and it took the corners veery car like, no body roll, good traction, no tyre screaching etc the wife said she didnt feel anything on the corners and was quite comfortable throughout. this pickup also has plenty steering lock and its great for those busy roads in the city.
we also went down terra cita ave and i must say, although it was the first van i test drove, it was really impressed and satisfied by the performance, the pickup came up that entire incline in normal 4 X 2 mode without any hint of a struggle i didnt have to engage the 4WD the LSD kept the traction there was some wheel spin of course but very minimal and it was fun to feel the actyon's power.
On the way down, i gave the wifey to drive as it was auto and she found it really easy and fun to drive as well while i was quite comfortable i nthe back appart from being nervous that is my wife behind the wheel in those blind corners lol
What i didnt like about the drive
- the "Turbo lag" which is what the sales rep called it but i will have to find out more about this
All in All - i really loved this pickup i give it real props, i just wished it had an actual benz stamp on it or wished is was made by another well known dealer so i could buy off the bat without worrying about resale
On that note it is still an option to me despite the risk esp since the wife love it and it is auto so she can drive it too
the sales rep said they dont do trade ins but they assist you with getting your vehicle sold locally.
He also indicated that the first service is free
And the service intervals is 10Km and the average cost is about 2000-2500
PRICE
the actyon is goin for 196K and that package comes with bluetooth handsfree reverse mirror attachement, 32" sharp HD TV (for your home) and something else i cant remember right now
OR
you can opt to not get those things and the price is 186K just as well you can you can mix and match or pay the 196 and get it balance as cash back towards your insurance etc
i would really encourage some more people ot go look at this pickup and to test drive it too and come place your feedback here esp drivers who are experienced with deisel and pickups
