I think the Japs and Germans make the best cars... lately they seem to be on par with each other (its an ole rumour that the Japs actually disect the latest German cars and copy them... for intstance compare the MK1 Ford Focus and the NZE Corolla).

But for all of time, definitely the Germans... they used to over-engineer their cars, like a W140 Mercedes S Class

Not the most reliable and the trim is crap. Too much displacement required for the measly amount of power obtained. Japanese cars make power more efficiently. What is the point of a hulking montecarlo with a >4 liter engine needed to move all that metal??

laaaaaaaaawd... that was to call out the 120Y crew.

Revolutionary to me = Italians for their super car creations since the 70's and the S class Benz for tech and futuristic trim available today.

Best american luxury car right now is a Cadillac STS V8

that is years behind the Acura RL, Infiniti M45, Lexus LS460 and Hyundai now release the Genesis V8 Cadillac was stumped big time.

pickup trucks......always was american until Nissan created the Titan and Toyota brought out the new Tundra 5.7 V8

Sports cars:.......back when a mustang GT belted out 217HP in 1996 from a 4.6 V8, they had 3rd gen RX-7's with 255HP since 1993 which blows the doors off the Mustang and don't lemme bring out the Supra, NSX, 3000GT, Evolution and the Skyline.

Minivan used to belong to Chrysler but now Toyota and Honda take over that and then Hyundai/Kia have the new Entourage/Sedona so bleh

I'll save the Germans for another day since that might bring about too much emotions.

SO.........in a few short words 2008 and beyond its the Japanese and South Koreans gonna rule the auto world. Check quality and sales stats now.

Yeah i agree that d americans lapsing too much with they cars..the japs watchin wat they have copy,paste &improve.But with the trucks i thing the Fords &Chevy&Dodge have the hearts of the true americans. Toyota may catch d youths dem but the red necks i doh tink so. And is only recently toyota start to make they own V8(i believe) they were using an american V8 for their trucks and NASCAR(doh quote meh on dat).ANd besides the Ford F-150 &F-250 is d best selling american truck since its inseption.

Some ppl fail to realise that America is a BIG A$$ country so naturally they require BIG A$$ engines to move they BIG A$$ cars.When yuh traveling 300miles to another state yuh want to be in comfort and yuh want an engine can handle it.
Yes the japs can screw more power out dey little engines and appear to be more fuel efficient but so wat..does that make them better cars??
A 3.0l engine wit 300hp and a 4.5l engine wit 300hp..who is more flexible?
And BTW a 6.0l vette V8 and a3.0L Acura V6 gets around d same gas mileage...

Which Acura are you referring too that has a 3.0 V6? Also, if you don't see well, both Acura's above weigh significantly more than your Corvette and cost significantly less. They're also larger, more fuel efficient, more reliable, more resale value, more luxurious, can actually take your family out and buy groceries and still have no cause to use Onstar for mechanical/electronic assistance.

how about we compare the entire GM range of shitvehicles against Honda's wrt mpg?
