But the new board looks very much PNM and i suspect that pnm appointed workers will be employed as square pegs in round holes again.

I worked in the then ISCOTT to ISPATT in the late 1980s to 1998. One of the biggest problems on ISCOTT failure was marketing abroad and low skilled employees. In the early 1980s the pnm actuality hired ppl from the streets as skilled men when most had no qualifications. One rolling mill operator could hardly read and write. Managers where bearly supervisors and had poor leadership skills. Other problem was the steel workers trade union was actuality a PNM trade union and had no interest in workers.

It was only when ISPATT took over that they employed qualified engineers directly from UWI and the then San Fernando technical Institute as techs. Plus ISPATT had some very bright Indian Indians as engineers & Managers . They expanded meltshop & baghouse and had the marketing that they needed. At that time it was a good place to learn. In 1998 i smell the rat and decided it was time to leave as i knew it was time to move on.
