Habit7 spent great time and effort to show the stats. Should be ashamed that PNM has not dented the murder rate.

Well I tried telling you all some of the things you all are calling murders are not. In the same way 2023's numbers were off, 2024's are off too. A man found dead is not necessarily a murder, two men fighting one gets wounded and eventually dies in the hospital is not necessarily a murder. Murder is largely based on intent. Not all homicides are murder. It's cool that Sheriff and Tuner has a toll but the only official toll is TTPS's.

But don't study me, I am just a "mite" and anybody who disagrees with you all based on objective facts must have some ulterior motive.

3 Tobago murders.

Habit7 - Did the police call these murders or accidental manslaughters?

Big man, how is that relevant? How does that falsify anything I just said? If I kept my tail quiet, is that increasing or decreasing the murder toll from what it actually is?

The estrogen that does be wafting from some of allyuh comments does be so strong eh.

Well it seems like that is the intent. Everything is doom and gloom and any objective data proving otherwise is a lie.

Everybody must react emotionally like women based on sentiment. And looking at the data and coming to rational conclusions is heartless.

Good.

I'm guessing they didn't account for the last 3-4 murders as papers already went into circulation so 295-296 (Guardian Toll).

Therefore, so far there has been no improvement from last year which means that we either come just below or break last year's record of 576.

Of course a newspaper can't document the murders that occur after it's printing. You don't think there were murders that day on 8/7/2023 that the newspaper didn't include until the next day?

On the page before men were forecasting 600 murders like Brian Shields. On the frontpage of the 9/7/2023 ppl were forecasting 600 too. Well the murders were less than that. The last time allyuh vex that data show led no increase in home invasions, now allyuh vex too the same occuring for murder. Well sacrifice yourself to make the point.

We have societal problem that cannot be fixed just with politics. Blaming Hinds for a triple murder in Tobago is stupid and sick if you ask me. Last month when I asked allyuh what allyuh would do and it was all kinda suggestions of human rights violations for "hot spots." I don't know how that would have prevented what happened in Black Rock, Tobago, nothing close to a hot spot.

But rather than deal with it as one country, one society, not as hotspots and racial groups, some prefer to preach doom and gloom with the hope that it would better their political chances. Well, let's see if it works this time in GE 2025.

Just like how a home invasion is just a burglary or mere break in, gotcha.

Do get me, get Kamla

"We will bring legislation to Parliament to create a specific criminal offence of home invasion. I propose that our next UNC government will create this full offence; this will involve increasing the sentences for larceny, burglary, serious assault, unlawful entry to your properties, whether it be your home or your businesses, and that you will be able to use force, firearm, weapon, cutlass, whatever it may be...we will create that offence with a penalty of 25 years in jail."

Sounds like kamla understands the need for it and it's just the pnmites including yourself who don't. Gotcha
But then again look where most of the home invaders hail from and you'll understand why it will never be a separate offence

So you don't mind when "home invasion is just a burglary or mere break in" because that is what Kamla thinks it is. Breakings are not mere but a 10yr penalty of entering a dwelling a committing an arrestable offense which carries its own separate penalty. So all she is proposing is utilising the existing with a new term which amounting to the same penalty. Point is, home invasions are already burglaries and breakings which you think is "mere."

And by allyuh logic UNC, gangsters, murders and firearm offenders from UNC areas because UNC opposed stiffer penalties for them. Thanks to the UNC for the first time in over century, murder was made a bailable offence. Do you feel safer now?

My use of the term mere was sarcasm which seems to have eluded you among other things.
What had also eluded you was where kamla proposed legislation to allow home owners to defend themselves against such and not have to ascertain if they came to pick mango first according to Rowley.
While we know there isn't an official home invasion crime on the books the fact that the act of invading people's homes with violent results is on the rise from on the ground reports, to say that the closest thing to it is a burglary and that's on the decrease is disingenuous and plain wicked on the part of those who suggest that.
The same thing happened in south Africa with white farmers being targeted and they armed themselves into militias and that's what we need here. But we know which party will never support that cuz home invasions are 'mere' burglaries. Might as well call it target practice against indos
