My car was bought in Sep 2015, the CC say year of manufacture is 2015 with no other detail such as month.
Clearly any car bought in Sep was manufactured months before in order to have been shipped and thing.
The 5 years is counted down to a specific month? In which case which document shows this?
Or just go get the inspection done and avoid any potential hassle?

There are model years and there are production dates. For the 2015 model year, the typical production date will range from July 2014 to June 2015. This is true worldwide.
Your vehicle production date should be stamped on the engine compartment VIN plate.

You need to walk with a photo copy of your ceritifted copy and the original ceritifted copy.Dizzy28 wrote:So went to the Inspection Station this morning and ran into an issue
My car has the chassis number on the body below the seat as well as on the front windscreen
There is an issue with the 9th character between the two places - on the body its a Z and on the windscreen its an S. The station says they have to use whats under the seat so therefore my certified copy is inaccurate as it has the number as on the windscreen.
This is a simple change in Licencing Office?

Then go in the line where they do transfers and present car and certs to officer and explain your problem.
They will check and submit a form of correction. That's the easy part.
After it takes about 1 month to correct, in my case it took 4 months for a bike. I had to supply where the duties and taxes was paid from the dealer when it landed.
They may think that you brought a knock down car and assembled it to advoid paying the correct taxes.
It's a hit and miss and a can of worms, plus tons of calls otherwise they do nothing if you dont push it.
In my case I had to write letters to the head of LO and Minster of Works to get it to changed
The admin LO, passed all my documents to customs to confirmed that it was paid. They may ask you to supply the customs ducs from massy so customs can check that it matches.Dizzy28 wrote:zoom rader wrote:You need to walk with a photo copy of your ceritifted copy and the original ceritifted copy.Dizzy28 wrote:So went to the Inspection Station this morning and ran into an issue

Well it was bought new from the firm so I assume that should be an easy verification. I will walk with the stuff from back then - Invoice from Massy etc.
pete wrote:I got my chassis # corrected when I went to do an engine change. Same thing, Chassis Number started with AA345 on the cert but it is actually AA34S.
The officer did everything.. he just filled out the form and when I eventually checked it a few months later when I got new certified copy it was corrected.

You know anybody with my specific experience?
Based on the windscreen the chassis number on the CC is correct, based on the below seat location the S should be a Z.

Take your car to LO first .Dizzy28 wrote:Dave wrote:Had this same problem and pushed back on massy to get it fixed. They did.
Who did you speak with at Massy as my vehicle is Massy as well?
But seeing as my vehicle is at 5 years would they even take me on or should I just go to Licensing directly?

The front line officers will submit the change to Admin , but it's up to the admin officers if they need addition documents. It all depends if they think you on skull.

And it copied on the windscreen plate. And it's on the certified copy. And he must have seen thousands of Korean Hyundais, he must have seen this several times before. And there is an easy way to verify which one is real by checking one of the many online databases available e.g. https://www.vindecoderz.com/EN/check-lo ... CP5U167146 and comparing it with the car right in front his face.
