South Park Mall Management Forcing unsafe Conditions on Tennants

The 1% continue to demonstrate their lack of concern for citizens safety. The management of South Park Mall is now demanding their tenants to park in the basement of the mall where there is little to no security, making them targets for criminal activity. These tennants pay minimum $20,000 a month for a spot to ply their trade and often have to take with them large sums of cash from their weekly sales.

The 1% management of South park mall has time and time again shown no concern for the safety of their paying tennants and customers as it's now one of the most unsafe malls in Trinidad. South Park is a failing mall and continues to head downhill mainly due to the lack of security and escalating robberies taking place on the compound.

12 tenants have already moved out due to the increase of criminal incidents. No additional security measures put in place as it's an additional cost to them. Their money is worth more than the life of any citizen

Seems to the story of all malls in Trinidad. Passed through Trinicty weekend gone and the area where Asian Buffet was had at least 6 boarded up shops including Asian Buffet.

If they had ban North and East people from pestering South Park there would be a drastic reduction in crime.

Dont blame the 1% for the actions of others.

If the facility is so unsafe, maybe they should all just shutter and leave.

If it's not the owners of the shops being targeted, it would be the customers.

Malls failing all over the world particularly because of online shopping and some of the local malls done start to feel it (ent there was a story about Government renting office space in Gulf City?)

But dem could afford to play bad, just look at who owns most of the malls.

It would explain why Sabga and dem subtly trying to shut down online shopping - protect local businesses and yuh protect current and potential renters. More demand for rental space means yuh could charge higher rent.

And even if that fails, they could lobby their pardners in Guavament to move in some (more) Government Agencies especially if Sh!tkickers and dem continue to destroy the economy.

Anyhow yuh look at it dem eh losing...

Mall rents and most retail rents have always been too high in this country
A tenant working to pay at least 3/4 of their profit towards rent is murder.

In most malls it's just a handful of tenants who are able to make it, the rest buss and repeat
The food courts have some traffic so they scrape thru.

in the crime situation we have now, what that letter is asking is plain madness. you cyar pay me to be out there at 9pm, but these people forcing tenants and employees to be there till that hour. and worse yet, clamping their car so they cannot go home.

Blame the 1%.

Allyuh Big-Eye Trinis love to plant allyuh self in 1% establishments and crying when rent/bill come.

Whose fault it is when all the profit goes to rent? Whose fault it is when allyuh service STINK AF and wondering why sales slow?

But because the 1% know how to run a business with million dollar profits, allyuh expect them to show sympathy and give allyuh dog cheap rent in prime locations......dream on.

Its simple, if you cannot afford the rent, then GO elsewhere. Paying high rent and making a comfortable profit is not impossible. Work harder.

But Yeh, blame the 1%.

South land mall was never Caroni lands. It belongs to lenny Saith.

However if you mean the lands by San Do Tech then that was caroni lands and ratch play off during Manning era to give to his 1% Minster.

Across by union Steel, San Do opposite Vemmco. It was a mall in the 1980s .

Yeah, dim sum restaurant, V's Members Club and other chinese shops are next to it. The building is still there and was running until it closed sometime in the mid-90s. Club Platinum was somewhere there also.

Questions was raised as to how he got the caroni lands. He was never a caroni worker.

When PNM ended caroni they stole the trains and lines as scrap. Miles of tracks of heavy steel was stolen by a PNM scrap dealers.and shipped abroad. One the carriages wheels was adout 1.5 tons. Caroni had about 20 carriages weighting about 3.5 tons each.
All the carriages and tracks gone
