What would be the cost of blocking around 2 lots of land with clay blocks and augering?

If they are rectangular and side by side, that is about 400 ft of wall, while if a front and back lot, it will be 500 ft of wall. Hadda describe what you need bossman.

less blocks, but the total cost would go up a little. unless he getting the columns & gate for free somehow. Still hadda cast the base with steel & starter bars, if he want it to last

op, better to use the 4x8x16 concrete blocks for that kinda project. It will take fewer blocks, less sand to plaster & look better than clay blocks if you don't plaster it immediately, & if the structure needs repairs down the road it'll be easier.

They were talking running feet of wall that's why I deducted for columns and gate. Concrete blocks is better since it takes 3/4 the amount and does not need plastering. It can either be groove pointed or flush pointed. If you go that way ,just cast a small beam at the top so it wont be prone to cracking.

Depends on where you buy. Factory price is $5.34 for concrete, $5.9 for h/c right now. Sometimes hc is a lot less.

could get the 4x8x16 for about the same price of or really close to a hollow clay, but you hadda look around.
last I bought 4" block I paid about $4.25 each, but it had a family friend discount in that & I was buying a few pallets all at once. iirc he was selling for about $5.25 each.

The factory gives the large hardwares a deal if the buy at certain times( when demand is low and production keeps running causing a glut). They have to buy $2m and remove it within a month, so the hardwares can sell below factory prices and still make a profit. Real Tuff and Bhags are among the ones that take advantage. So the price is almost the same but with concrete you use 3/4 the amount. If laid properly, a concrete wall is a thing of beauty.

Also the concrete blocks if put neatly wont need plastering so minus labour and material on that vs a hollow clay

For a 4 inch CMU 6 foot high concrete block wall, around $20 per sq ft.

Quick question to Op, where is the land and type of soil will vary your cost. If you have to auger, trench and backfill money is different and as Mr Rspann said the concrete blocks will offset your cost a bit. I did a retaining wall to back fill and then followed with HC blocks plastered the inside only and for one lot it was 180k( 10ft deep piles, 8x8x16 blocks 3 row on a 16x16 concrete trench with 12x12 columns and 10 rows hc ). If I had to do it over I would have done concrete and flush point it as I may still end up paying to plaster outside, neighbours is grief.

On a side note on land, if I pull back my wall 6 inches away from the boundary and allow my neighbour to tie his front wall to mine is the space left legally mine or do I lose it after time. Reason I ask I don't want anyone building anything on or against the sides of my wall ever.

The surveyed boundaries of your lot are yours unless you lose it to adverse possession (squatting). Ideally your neighbour should do the same, leaving a 1 foot clearance between your walls/fences, but some idiots feel they get a free 6 inches like is a damn subway.

Adverse possession is usually done without the permission or refusal of the owner, so you should call up a lawyer for a quick minute to see if a letter sent via post is enough to pre-emptively stop your neighbour from having a legal case.

Survey your boundaries and talk to a lawyer. A couple hundred to talk with a lawyer now will save thousands down the line if alyuh start to fight.
