Toyota axio transmission

Got an axio and the transmission is gone
Hearing that rebuilding is the better option than changing
Anybody ever had these experiences with it and also is the rebuilding better than getting a replacement?

Sorry i cant be of any help with the question, but is the transmission a common problem with the Axio? How old is the car?

replacing it for a forrin used might end up back in d same situation cause u dont know how old those f\u wud be , how d mileage was & how good d original owner treated it

imo better u check for a rebuilding of what u already have .....

I will never buy any vehicle with an auto transmission esp a used one. Fed up hear of them failing.

I always hearing about axio and tranny problems...is it a defect or how you treat it?

Seems like axio really does have tranny problems, this coming up too much to be random noise

Yup even know Taxi men with Axio and had to replace it, I wonder what is even the cost to replace an Axio Transmission?

The Axio uses CVT which as you know is a non abuse transmission. Meaning no go for our 3rd world countries where we don't like to maintain. I mean you can buy a used car with transmission but avoid CVT from what I have seen.

In any event if it can take gear box then drop in a 5FW and be done with it for life.

Rebuild it ftw...on a side note..it's all about the care and maintenance...I have one and so far doing 196k and no probs...just be on time and don't cheap out...

Take it by Jai Ragbir on jury street Aranguez
He rebuilds cvt transmissions
I had two cvt fielders and used to change oil by him
Out over 150k on them no problems.

I can't relate the the Axio because my sister's Axio is going well over 120,000kms, most likely due to regular service intervals. But I have had the misfortune of having failure on my Sportero auto trans, mostly due to the mileage which is just shy of 300,000kms and poor service habits. I have opted to rebuild for the same sentiments as Rovin. If I buy a used transmission, I do not know the condition of history. With a rebuild, I know what I have.

Apparently such a thing does exist, so the next question is where you getting this Axio gearbox to buy in Trinidad?
I have NOT seen any locally and what would be the cost for the mechanic to install it. As opposed to rebuilding the CVT?

I mean all of this could be avoided if Toyota continue to use normal transmission

People talking about 120k on a Axio transmission as if that is some sort of achievement, those old 101 corollas and EG8 civic doing 600K and more easy easy, my brother EK3 transmission doing nearly 700K and he does use brake fluid in the transmission. (Apparently the reverse gear was giving real problems to go in and someone told him throw brake fluid in the transmission and since that it working fine for over 2 years now

Just looking at the animation here I don't feel confident in buying used vehicle with CVT at all,

i got one for 7k at bicks in debe apparently mines was gone beyond repair but its my dad that i took
it was due to bad service habits his is 167k and last time he changed fluid was at 40k or so
he lost his job at mittal and well things went sour so i ended up taking it from him and giving him my car jai's told me to do a replacement so im going with it and replacing it....
