recently got some quotes for Jypsum and PVC. Both at $13 sq ft. I went with Jypsum as i did not think the contractor I was using coud do the PVC. The Jypsum was really neat after it was painted, but was a real pain while they were doing the work. Just one suggestion when cleaning up the dust, DONT use either a Vacum or a mop. Sweep it up. The Vaccum filter get clogged every two minuites, and the moping up, let's just say you might as well be mixing plaster paris.

i believe its the culture of a least the gypsum men i have seen. They make a mess and leave most of it behind . if customers continue to allow this who will be to blame . As professional painters i see the nonense and mess they leave . Particularly the tape work and mudding in the corners

is there anything you can do about condensation from the roof dripping on the gypsum? I doing over the roof right now and i feel that gypum would get damaged if water drips on it. I leaning on the pvc ceiling side even though I like the look of gypsum.

both has its pros and cons, as for the heat thing with the PVC, we used a special heat resistant sheeting before we installed the PVC and it works great. Also i hear there is a new PVC compound which is fire resistant.

So...what's the cost for this these days? Looking to do a ceiling on a gazebo/shed in an entertainment area. One guy quoted me $18per sq ft. material and labour. Not sure if that's good or bad.
