sometimes i read these articles and it just confirms that i made poor life choices

worked on some of those High end coconut oil machines from india, Almost 15-20 years old at least

topland engines and gensets. The entire setup has a couple 2 cylinder diesel engines, its own power generator, cooling system ect, amazing things for something coming out of india. After seeing how the stuff aged, its not bad.

India has lots of tools and machines that you may not even think, i saw stuff like wacker with steel brushes to clean out cattle sheds, things like portable motors that can be easily adapted to push out 110v, run water pumps for land, run small mills ect, pump to spray pesticides.

I do agree the amount of independent research carried out probably is an issue, efforts should be made to increase the research and development infrastructure at the campuses....especially with regards to alternative and eco-friendly energy and resource management.

However could it also be because we are not by nature a risk taking people, as we lack basic infrastructure it makes it difficult for citizens to take the chance and follow an idea from conception to reality? In other countries they have a social safety net that removes some of the risk of product development, which frees people up tremendously.

Personally our attitude to failure is terrible, failure is to be feared and ridiculed, not ideal for a culture that wants to promote innovation or such.

yea i agree, universities need to have facilities to enable research which open 24/7

You see that 24/7 be careful crime is a big issue with late opening hours, regardless of technology (like key cards to limit access). Not to mention petty theft which can add up, especially when we have limited supervision, at later hours.

With regards to the campus itself some buildings were open overnight, but not the lab or the working buildings, these as I mentioned before required supervision and security.

To be honest though once you can get these facilities working properly for a standard 40hr. work week that would be a big help, and take it from there.
