Woman with baby and gun is a cop

The woman depicted in three pictures on social media holding a baby in one hand and a gun in another, is a police officer.

Police have confirmed the identity of the woman through a release sent to the media after the pictures began circulating on social media, and raising the ire of several bloggers. The release said the circulation of the photos, and the circumstances surrounding the taking of the pictures, is being investigated by the Professional Standards Bureau.

ACP in charge of crime Irwin Hackshaw told Newsday yeterday that police recieved the photos and utilised the assistance of the Cyber Crime Unit to investigate the source of the photos and the identity of the people in it.

The photos depict a young woman, with curlers in her hair, wearing a salmon-coloured T-shirt. She is holding the baby in her right hand, and in her left, a pistol. The child does not seem to be more than two years old.

In one of the photos the woman looks at the camera with a smile on her face while the toddler tries to handle the gun. In the other two, the woman is still smiling, but this time the baby has the gun in its mouth. In one, the child is sucking on the hammer, while in the other the child has the muzzle in its mouth.

Newsday attempted to reach president of the Police Social and Welfare Association (PSWA), Michael Seales, and Commissioner of Police, Stephen Williams, but neither answered their phones.

Maybe they have a few older ones around still for juniors and SRP's,but the general pistol issue was revamped under Gary Griffith with Sigs...all basic patrols have them ,but yeah there may be some older serviceable ones around still,just like anything else I suppose..

Yep definitely crossed my mind,in fact I think a similar old police service pistol was seized a couple years ago if I'm not mistaken...

So yes a very good possibility some could be out there,i mean it's T&T,they may do an audit next 20 years and discover that rats ate them.

There was a young policewoman officer who was murdered some months ago so
it's possible this a warning to the boyfriends or the higher up ranking ..

The curlers however is a total mystery

This proves that the recruit process is flawed together with promotion .

Let's be real there are a large number of ppl that got in the force because of family members pulling strings and favouritism.

This is not only in the force it is all over and it is why trini is not moving forward. Every single thing in trini You always have to know someone to get anything done.

It's called the bligh culture and it's why I say trinis are nasty ppl.

She was not 16 when the pic was taken, that is her child and this said woman is now in her 30s. She is a police but rumors as to how she became one... Let's just say she got allot a probes before this one.. Lol
