How can PoS be right on the side of the sea and still flood? That water should be able to run out so easy.it have no right to collect and flood.
And in the past it required a significant rain event to cause flood, but now is like any kinda rain and flood.
Rain hasn't increased by any great amount, the drainage is the same system, the only difference is the management... or lack of has remained the same

As far as I remember the lagoon always flood easy it was claimed that the paving of the savanah made it worst. I clearly remember Jack Warner trying to build a overflow area to help the flooding. Even then it was bad

POS has for decades handled heavy downpours badly.
In the 70's Frederick streets used to be a river when afternoon heavy showers were experienced and I distinctly remember parked cars bumping into each other (was employed at Barclays, Salvatori Bidg).
The capital city cannot efficiently handle discharge of significant rainfall and the authorities knowing that significant reengineering is what is required have failed to do so.
Actually, its somewhat bemusing, that rather than deal with infrastructural imperatives first we have installed significant new structures and other developments which have increased volumes and rates of run-off and created new flow restriction conditions.
The problem encompasses St Anns, Maraval,Diego Martin and the city itself.
