The high pressure bands, as pointed out earlier might channel it on its present path.

Paths look set but probably will not develop strong and even if it does the stronger wind and rain is always to the northern path of the storm

Get it???

Yep, your post title said that there's a hurricane hunter flight into the storm tomorrow. It's a flight into the system near the Yucatan (West of Trinidad). The system east of Trinidad doesn't have a flight carded. It just says there is a possibility of one on the 19th - so Monday.

Interesting trivia

'There have only been two instances of a named storm forming during the month of June prior to reaching the Lesser Antilles: Tropical Storm Ana (1979), and the 1933 Trinidad Hurricane (1933).

Both 1933 and 1979 went on to become active to hyperactive seasons. "

Interesting. I wonder how many tropical systems (depression, storm, hurricane) have affected Trinidad, whether a close pass or landfall?

Works Ministry corrects fake tropical cyclone warning
ALINA DOODNATH CREATED : 17 JUNE 2017 T&T NEWS

The Ministry of Works and Transport is refuting claims that it called an 'emergency meeting' due to an impending cyclone threat.

In a statement, the Ministry said the comment posted to social media by a local Facebook group was false.

"The Ministry of Works and Transport notes with concern the report by the Facebook Group "Trini Daily" that the Ministry has called an emergency meeting after receiving a memo about a tropical cyclone possibly hitting T&T, and wishes to advise the public that the Ministry has not issued any weather forecasts or bulletin regarding the possibility of an upcoming cyclone."

"The Ministry wishes to maintain and advise the public further that all official weather forecasts and bulletins lie within the ambit of the Trinidad & Tobago Meteorological Service."

The Ministry said it recognises and is very concerned with the rising trend of inaccurate information circulating in the public domain, and urges the public to visit the Ministry’s website and social media pages to verify the veracity of all information purported to be from the Ministry of Works and Transport.

On Friday, the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service warned of an area of 'disturbed weather' to the south-east of Trinidad but assured citizens that there is currently no tropical cyclone watch or warning.

From CNC3

Met Office: Disturbed weather south-east of T&T now has 70% chance of becoming tropical cyclone in 3-4 days

Image

The Met Office says the weather system south-east of Trinidad and Tobago now has a 70% chance of developing into a tropical cyclone in 3-4 days.

The Met Office notes, however, that Trinidad and Tobago is not under a tropical cyclone watch or warning at this time.

The following is the latest bulletin from the Met Office.

"At 8.00 a.m. today, Saturday 17th June, 2017, a broad area of disturbed weather, was located approximately 2560 km east-southeast of Trinidad and Tobago.

Over the last 24 hours, this area of disturbed weather has become better organized.

There is a medium chance (40%) of tropical cyclone development over the next 24 to 48 hours and a high chance (70%) over the next 3 to 4 days.

At this time, this is an area of disturbed weather for which the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS) will be investigating and monitoring, paying particular attention to the likelihood of tropical cyclone development.

All interests in Trinidad and Tobago are asked to monitor the progress of this system and pay close attention to information being issued by the TTMS by visiting our website at www.metoffice.gov.tt, downloading our mobile app (search: TT Met Office) and following us on Twitter and Facebook. The TTMS is reminding citizens that we are in the Hurricane Season and adequate preparation is advised.

WE WISH TO UNDERSCORE THAT AT THIS TIME TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO IS NOT UNDER ANY TROPICAL CYCLONE WATCH OR WARNING.

The TTMS will be closely monitoring this system as it moves across the Tropical Atlantic Ocean and will issue another bulletin within 24 hours."

Are you referring to the same Trinidad in which a 10 minute drizzle causes flooding in the capital?

est 92L is currently located near 43 west or over 1,000 miles to the east-southeast of Trinidad and Tobago. Current satellite imagery shows disorganized shower and thunderstorm activity in association with this feature. However, satellite imagery also continues to show a counter-clockwise rotation in the cloud field. Sea-surface temperatures are sufficiently warm enough to support development along the track of Invest 92L over the next several days. In addition, Invest 92L has remained to the south of the dry, dusty air to its north thus far. The feature will cross over or near Trinidad and Tobago Monday night before entering the eastern Caribbean Sea Tuesday morning. There will be a period of gusty winds and downpours as the system crosses over or near Trinidad and Tobago from Monday evening into Tuesday morning.

It would need to get organized with high speed rotation before it hits us to start veering north at a more rapid rate. Rotation is anticlockwise which is good news for south america but we seem to be right in the path of formation.

Worstcase - it starts forming right over our heads on tuesday/Wednesday

Leastcase - it develops before us and just grazes us with heavy showers.

Constantcase - there will be water
