Damn the last one I saw in this series was when they were in Tokyo, pretty long time ago. Lost interest after that show but seems they are doing pretty good now.

'Fast 9': Where the Franchise Must Go After 'Fate of the Furious'

...“Well, now they have to go to outer space.” Even series screenwriter Chris Morgan acknowledged the suggestion, replying that if he “had something so good,” he’d consider sending Dom and friends to the stars...

It could happen...

dont think of them as car movies any more, its an action franchise.

its good, not bessss. just like any other MI movie, or james bond.

This pretty much since ff5. Heist movies mostly now. Yes it's ridiculous for racers to go to high tech robbery but it was also ridiculous to get danger to manifold warnings in ff1.

Who would have thought a Point Break remake with underground racing instead of surfing would have gone on to be such a huge franchise.

Even if it didn't do well they'd be another. Until Vin decided they'll be no more, they'll be more.

Only saw Tokyo Drift about 4 years ago
And the one with the 2 Koenigseggs at the end not too long after. Which one was that?
I have some catching up to do lol

The series obviously has somewhat of a cult following. If it continues to rake in the cash then why not? I guess.....

Vin Diesel is smart, why try to be an A-list actor @ $20M a movie + backend (maybe) when you can be a solid B-movie, typecast actor with a controlling interest in a solid franchise and make so much more

The franchise is like Nickleback at this point.

All the keyboard warriors come out in force to joke, meme and complain about the new installment, then the new installment pulls in a huge amount of money anyway.

This.
Men does real beat up about these movies, saying the stunts are fake, etc. These movies were never meant to be documentaries about cars or driving. It's just entertainment, nothing more. Like how some men does watch WWE knowing it's all rehearsed and fake, but at the end of the day it's just entertainment. I personally just like to watch them outdo themselves in the BS.

How much of that money you getting OP? Or did you actually lose money contributing to its success?

Focus on developing yourself and your empire instead of getting on about a silly movie that used to be about cars and racing. :P
