Shipping LCD monitor thru skybox

I recently purchased an LCD monitor from Amazon and had it shipped to my skybox address.

The skybox company wants me to sign a waive, stating that they will not be held responsible for damage to the item, because the package does not meet their requirements for shipping.

Has anyone experienced this? Thanks.

Yes
It happens sometimes when they think the package can be damaged diring transit.
They do this so they wont have to stand any reaponisbility of you receive it damaged.
My cousin ordered a 55"tv a while back and he had to pay an additional 140US to have it put in a special crate weighing 55lbs to ship. He also have to bear the freight cost of the crate.

The choice is yours....either sign the waiver and hope for the best, or inquire about any additional insurance that can be paid for additionally, or have it sent back to amazon...

Brought in a 22" monitor last year with Aeropost. It was delivered normally like other packages. I believe they charge insurance at the rate of $ 1 US on every $ 100 US in case of any mishaps.

What Skybox are you with ? Aeropost FTW. They cost more than everyone else but you will not get crap like that happening.

brought in a 27" imac with websource, no problems, it's basically the same dimensions as a screen alone. Skyboxes bring in screens daily. Perhaps the package was damaged or not packaged properly? If it's coming from Amazon then it should be packaged very well. Not sure why they are making an issue.

CSF also charges insurance for monitors and TV's. Usually 10% value of the item. 5 monitors later, never had any issues with them
