Who the *********** is NATUC? Have Michael Annisette read the FATCA ACT of the USA?
They see the Bill as ready to sign. Is that NATUC or your understanding.
There is a process to be followed.
That is not to say The Opposition is right.
The Speaker has to do better ..........

Is the Bankers Association also trying to railroad the Opposition?

How many countries has introduced FATCA Legislation?
The US needs countries to sign on more than some countries need them. TnT may be one of them.

Oh, the irony!

then explain why nothing ever moves forward? explain why people on both sides (including you....) have bitched and moaned about crime and the economy but continue to spout drivel from Kamla/UNC that any econ student would laugh at?

You so forking simple minded that you can't even quote what somebody say properly, oh gosh girl, is just to press the quote button, how hard could it be? How the fork you put up this like if I write that?

none of which kpb has stated
The point is that KPB is changing her rationale for avoiding the vote.

She doesnt understand the urgency?
The Banker Association ,Chambers and business groups have all clearly stated the importance of timely compliance....

At the end of the day the brinkmanship at this time is non productive.

"The vacillation is discrediting her and the opposition"

Agreed. She can be childish at times. I have to look for the advertisement on their objection.
The Government should call her bluff and send it to a Joint Select Committee of Parliment.
Fairest said that they had dealt with five of the Opposition six concern.

Does any one have a copy of the Bills, as the first one seems to be amended.
Post as I believe it will be a good read ...........

But then again Colm got another extension. So is more chance for she to behave brutish in the most feminine way

Their position re the FATCA going to a JSC has not changed. Yet the hypocritical Guyanese Buck and the Paternity Denier seem determined to paint the Opp. as responsible(again) for the non-passage of the Bill. Mind you the whole bunch of two-faced PNM MP's DID agree to taking it to a JSC, then without explanation as far as I know, went back on their already feckless word. The most inane part is that the Gov't jackarses don't seem to realize that their power INCREASES if it goes to a JSC which is naturally more weighted for the Gov"t.
I guess we shouldn't expect more from the "I'se de Prime Ministah!" and the "we in charge now, deal with it!" crew and their hangers-on.

Kamla and crew only want to see TNT come under sanctions from the US if this bill does not pass, just to blame Rowley.
that is their game plan, they know that their vote is needed so they intend to strong arm the government
childish games at the expense of the citizenry

One side alone preventing the Bill's passage :? Why not take it to the JSC? The $93000 dollar with no paperwork woman and the rest of them would have you believe that a JSC somehow bypasses the Parliament when after the JSC, it actually must go to Parliament for passage as a Bill. The Government is looking more discredited given their lame-arse reason for reneging on an agreement.
PP/Kamla milking this for all it is worth but the Government seems not to realize that they simply must have the support of the Opposition. Take it to the JSC, let the Opposition have their little victory and claim yours when the Bill is passed. The longer this drags out, the longer the Government looks unyielding and inept, (heaven knows they need precious little help there).

Did you really believe that this self serving bunch of hypocrites would even think of opposing something that threatens their billions of dollars in profits? Also, it can't be that urgent if one-year extensions being handed out like PriceSmart samples. I think both sides have their agenda, but the Government has more to lose if this does drag on to the 11th hour, especially given their epic backpedal on the JSC agreement.

If the extension sought was to facilitate proper consideration of the requirements/provisions of the proposed bill and this was the commitment given..........Why all the foolishness now?
The time to do the work shouldn't be wasted on nonsense, again.

I look forward to the day when our politics is not about oneupmanship, making the other side look bad for points and only "loving" the country when you in power. Similarly the electorate needs to put country before party and not blindly follow

If you're dotish in Opposition, why in the world would you be different in Government? Politics seems to be who can strong arm who, merely for the appearance of same. This dotish approach sadly elite, will probably last through our lifetimes as the up and coming politicians seem determined not to chart their own, or a different course, but merely to be mini Rowleys or Kamlas :?

So Kamla leave message and instructions to put back in Glen Ramadhar. And she run away London so she could say well "ayeeeee eyeeee waszntttt deeeey when deey do that nah baaahai me eh put he dey nah"

She feel she so smart eh, god if you know how career politicians like this just disgust me. There is a reason I called Hillary Clinton, Kamla 2.0 same thing happened with UK PM Cameron. All of them all of the career politicians are dropping like flies because people are sick and tired of all the nasty lies, deception and dishonesty.

Does Obama, or soon Trump, give a firetruck if T&T don't sign up? Countries like the UK and Canada do have reservations. But then they're going to play ball, or get concessions since the USA needs them for other geo-political purposes. America has no special relationship military tech secrets treaty with T&T like it does with the UK. Nor is T&T just next door to the north, and a key ally in NAFTA and against Russia potentially in the Arctic. T&T is a middle income, small, island and geo-politically weak country and USA will just say "f you", and crush it like a proverbial ant or worm on the ground.....

If people think T&T is important in any way to the USA (bar a potential holiday spot.....Trump would it like it here, not many Mexicans and he can buy enough venez or colombian women to grab by the nookie...) then they're in delusions and need to understand basic geo-politics. Might makes right, even if war is not as common as it used to be.

one thing i don't get....UNC has reservations which they're entitled to. but then what scope is there for re-negotiation? Obama is sympathetic to less developed countries, Trump won't be. Trump will be more isolationist, and not give a damn as much about helping out smaller countries. So is it worth the bacchanal from both PNM AND UNC, and since the scope to renegotiate is low, why is either side blocking it? I get what you're saying, but then UNC trying to make it look they "de guardian of the people" without understanding the USA don't really NEED T&T to sign on. WE need access to their markets/financial services, more than them to ours.

lol I was listening to 90.5 FM tonight with Sadro Mohammed and if you see how hard he was trying to educate them UNC callers and yet they still don't get it. The man trying to tell them how Kamla and the old fart Cabal fail hard, nobody is going to vote for them and if you see how them UNC callers abuse him.

And mind you Sadro is a die hard UNC eh. ROFL this is why I say UNC wil remain in opposition for 20 years, I wasn't being a PNM I was just letting people know reality. Just look how she gone London to hide while she left instructions to put back Glen Ramadhar hahahah. As if it wasn't obvious who this crazy woman really serves when she put back Ganga Singh in a UNC safe seat.
She and Hillary could lime together both of them serve the same special interest and both of them does drink rum.

I will really like the full provisions of the proposed FATCA bill, be ventilated since we must be the certain that provisions (if passed) must not impact negatively on our rights.
At this time, I am just not sure how 'far-reaching' this thing is.

Feminine, the Government RENEGED on an AGREEMENT. There is no UNC and PNM on integrity and honesty. To say that it is the same exact Bill and doesn't need to go to a JSC AFTER you agreed to do just that is facetious and dishonest. I also note that Scarfy has been conspicuously absent from commenting(no roti involved I guess  ), but as usual leaving Impsy, Siamese and Father God to talk.
