why the need to go colder? 22 is 22 regardless of the heat outside- unless your AC not wukking good or need servicing

our AC was at 26 and that was fine

Some units don't measure room temp and try to maintain a specific temp... Rather it just remains blowing cold air longer when the temp is set lower.
