so what is considered a "fair" profit to make from a life saving drug ?

th concept of what's fair is very subjective, but generally speaking what he did wasn't fair to anyone.
he didn't discover, create or develop the drug, so he can't claim those costs as why he did it. he didn't market the drug either. neither did he inprove on it.
fair would be pricing the drug where it would be affordable to those that are going to need & use it while till adding on something as profit. the moment you price a life saving drug in such a way that the bulk of those that need it can't afford it, thats price gouging.


next up are those oncology drugs, the price of them ting ridiculously & prohibitively expensive, & don't even cure the friggin condition.

Surely the industry would have an average return on investment. If this return allows other firms the ability to satisfy shareholder demand and plough back a reasonable amount into r&d then it should also be enough for this company.

This industry return should be the starting point to induce regulation.

I actually think this is a smart strategy... Get people talking about the drug by a ridiculous price increase and then drop the price a little lower ...make them feel the new price still better....and still end up with a 3000% profit

regulation would never be accepted by drug companies,
drugs take many many years to develop along with clinical trials
manufacturer exclusivity is only about 7-10years before generic drugs step in

Woman Pays Through The Nose To Punch Martin Shkreli In Face

The winning bidder will be permitted to repeatedly pummel him in the face.




A woman in Florida has pledged to pay $50,000 to punch Martin Shkreli in the face.

The infamous pharmaceutical CEO auctioned off the chance for some lucky hater to punch or slap him in the puss this week.

Shkreli’s goal is to raise money for the family of Mike Kulich, his former PR consultant who died in his sleep on Saturday morning.

The punch gimmick is also a personal tribute to Kulich, whose stock-in-trade was masterminding outlandish PR stunts for his clients, many of whom were in the porn industry.

Shkreli, aka “pharma bro,” claimed he received bids as high as $78,000, but the final winning bid on Wednesday was $50,000, from a woman in Florida, known only as “Katie.”

He will match the amount and donate it to Kulich’s family.

Neither Katie nor Shkreli have responded to The Huffington Post’s requests for comment on when the punch might take place or whether it will happen in Florida or New York City.

Katie is allowed to film it for posterity or to share it online.

Shkreli first became a pariah last September when, as the CEO of Turing Pharmaceuticals, he notoriously jacked up the price of an antiparasitic drug used to treat infections in HIV patients.

He resigned in December, one day after being arrested on charges of securities fraud related to a company he previously ran. Shkreli is due to go on trial in June 2017.

Go watch his interviews on the radio shows etc on YouTube on why he raised the prices and how the people who needed the drug were not actually getting screwed over...
