Apple better include something like this with the airpods. Cause after spending so much on the headsets why must I pay another company $10 for a string with plastic clips on the ends.

Let the aftermarket handle it. To me it's hypocritical for the manufacturer to make expensive wireless headphones essentially wired.
If you buy the airpods that risk is inherently part of the design.

So apple should not sell iPhone cases? Cause buying a beautiful smartphone is a risk.

If you think the two are comparable I'm not gonna argue that. My whole thing is the main feature of airpods is it being totally wireless. Apple themselves selling a way to thether them together just seems like a obvious backtrack.
Which essentially turns it to any other Bluetooth headphone

No need for 4K display on Apple's iPhone 7 because of screen quality, expert claims
By: Mike Wuerthele
Monday, September 19, 2016 11:00 AM

Apple's Wide Color display on the iPhone 7 is the iPhone's best yet, with a record high contrast ratio and record low reflectance according to a recent third party analysis, and the quality of the screen may cast doubt on rumors of a shift to OLED displays.

DisplayMate has examined the displays on the iPhone 7 family, and has overall found them to be best in class. Besides just the contrast ratio and low reflectance, the company found the peak brightness in high ambient light situations to slightly exceed Apple's claims at 705 nits.

The analysts also discovered that the iPhone 7 has a screen reflectance of 4.4 percent, the lowest that the company has ever recorded in a mobile device. The overall record low is 1.7 percent on the 9.7-inch iPad Pro.

Color accuracy, including both the sRGB and DCI-P3 Wide Color were examined. DisplayMate calls the iPhone 7 screen overall the "most color accurate display that we have ever measured."

"The iPhone 7 excels due to its record absolute color accuracy, which is visually indistinguishable from perfect," says DisplayMate, "and is very likely considerably better than any mobile display, monitor, TV or UHD TV that you have."

As a result of the display improvements in the iPhone 7, DisplayMate claims that the screen doesn't need the 4K resolution because of sharpness, will perfectly replicate any video content the user wishes to throw at it, and will force other manufacturers to "play catch-up fast" or be left behind in the marketplace.

Wide Color, as found most recently on the iPhone 7 family, is Apple's name for the DCI-P3 color space. DCI-P3 was designed as a standard for digital movie projection for American film industry. Most displays use the older "standard RGB" (sRGB) with a narrower color space — the iPhone 7 is calibrated for both color profiles, and shifts between them as needed.

Both the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus feature the Wide Color display. The 4.7-inch iPhone 7 features a 1334x750 display at 326ppi, with the 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus including a 1920x1080 screen at 401ppi.

Apple Nails iPhone 7 Display: Keeps Pace With Galaxy Note 7, S7

The iPhone 7′s display quality is very close to the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Note 7.

That’s the gist of the testing DisplayMate Technologies did on the iPhone 7′s display. “The display on the iPhone 7 is…a major upgrade to the display on the iPhone 6,” DisplayMate Technologies’ Raymond Soneira wrote. “It is by far the best performing mobile LCD display that we have ever tested, and it breaks many display performance records.”

iPhone 7 vs Galaxy Note 7 and Galaxy S7: The operative phrase is “best performing mobile LCD display.” The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 had the “best performing smartphone display that we have ever tested,” DisplayMate said in a separate, earlier review. It also said that about the Galaxy S7′s display, though that is a more dated review. Both of those Samsung phones have organic light-emitting diode (OLED) displays.

Whatever the case, DisplayMate’s Soneira wants to make sure you know that iPhone 7′s display is really good.

"Steve Jobs clearly always highly valued display performance and loved bragging about Apple AAPL -1.17% displays, so he would definitely be extremely proud of the exceptional performance of the iPhone 7 display, but probably be dismayed at how little public attention Apple has given to their outstanding iPhone 7 display – which provides a major competitive advantage that most consumers and reviewers are not yet aware of… and other manufacturers will need to play catch-up fast."

And here are some the deets. Note the frequency of the “perfect” rating.

The iPhone 7 matches or breaks new Smartphone display performance records for:

• The Highest Absolute Color Accuracy for any display (1.1 JNCD*) – Visually Indistinguishable from Perfect
• The Highest Absolute Luminance Accuracy for any display (±2%) – Visually Indistinguishable from Perfect
• Very Accurate Image Contrast and Intensity Scale (with Gamma 2.21) – Visually Indistinguishable from Perfect
• The Highest Peak Brightness Smartphone for any Average Picture Level APL (602 to 705 nits)
• The Highest Contrast Ratio for any IPS LCD display (1,762)
• The Lowest Screen Reflectance for any Smartphone display (4.4 percent)
• The Highest Contrast Rating in High Ambient light for a Smartphone for any APL (137 to 160)
• The Smallest Color variation with Viewing Angle (2.1 JNCD or less)

*Just Noticeable Color Difference

DisplayMate’s Soneira also underscored the fact that the iPhone 7′s ”new wider DCI-P3 Color Gamut is really a big deal…it is what makes 4K UHD TVs deliver noticeably better color and picture quality than 2K Full HD TVs.”

So what will Apple do next ?

In a section entitled “Switching to OLED Displays for Next iPhone” Soneira says “LCDs are a great” for tablets and TVs “but for handheld Smartphones, OLED displays provide a number of significant advantages,” including being thinner, lighter, usually more power efficient, having very fast response time, better viewing angles, and can be made flexible and into curved screens, among other advantages.

Soneira concludes with: “Apple’s reported move to an OLED iPhone is simply a recognition of all of the above.”

6s

Seems like a minor upgrade... unless you were in love from before.

The only worthy feature I see there is the stereo speakers.. just because I was used to dual front facing speakers from before and watching video in landscape on a 6s just sounds off balance.

Coming from a 6s plus... I don't think the performance gains will be that great
Largely unaffected by water resistance, memory or camera performance

Only seeing the T-Mobile unlocked version available for preorder and they're saying u would need to activate it in store or through T-Mobile.

When I bought my iPhone 6 it was the same T-Mobile unlocked version that came with the sim card and if I remember correctly I simply did a restore in iTunes and put my Digicel sim card in. No activation was required...

Anyone can confirm this. Did anyone buy the T-Mobile unlocked 6s that came with the sim and was able to activate it without problems?

I did. Purchased a T-Mobile 6s directly from Apple. It came with a nano SIM in the box.
I just popped in my local SIM and it activated over the air.
Easy.

Same with me and my 6S which was the unlocked tmobile model bought off the apple store.
Have the tmobile sim somewhere, but just popped in my bmobile sim and it worked.
Also have a close friend who bought the tmobile 6 at launch the year before without issues as well with her bmobile sim.

Same. Bought the T-Mobile iPhone 6, put in my bmobile SIM and worked fine ever since. Using that same iPhone to write this in fact.

anyone could confirm this with the 7 tho?

Made no difference to him for the SOLE purpose of that lens was to zoom...

He took a pic with the zoom lens taped up just to see if apple was using it for extra light or anything and he said he noticed no differences...

So i dont think I'm convinced anymore for the 7plus.... I guess to be safe i'd get my hands on it before purchasing

http://www.macrumors.com/2016/09/21/iph ... -hands-on/

When Apple announced the iPhone 7 Plus, one major feature it focused on was a new "Portrait" mode that allows the device's camera to simulate a shallow depth of field effect, similar to what can be achieved with a high-end DSLR.

Portrait mode wasn't ready to go when the iPhone 7 Plus shipped, but Apple promised to introduce it at a later date and did so on September 21st, with the release of iOS 10.1. Available as a beta feature, Portrait mode is built into iOS 10.1, and we went hands-on with it to see how well it performs.
