What an absolute champ there will never be another like Bolt after he is gone. He will be 30 years old now.

World will truly miss this man after he leaves the sport which won't be long from now.

So a trinidadian won the 400m hurdles and won gold.....Clement is his name....Too bad he ran for Team USA.....reason being....he could not get a T @T passport......boy....we real lame as a country......public service sector sucks.....they couldn't get the dude a passport...wtf.....

http://www.trinidadexpress.com/20160818 ... e-been-tts

TRINIDAD and Tobago born US-based athlete Kerron Clement, who struck gold in the men's 400 metres hurdles finals at the Olympic Stadium in Rio De Janeiro on Thursday, could have competed for T&T if not for the country's bureaucracy.

He migrated to the US when he was 13.

Former president of the Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee (TTOC) Larry Romany said the main reason why Clement never represented the country was because he could not get a Trinidad and Tobago passport, a requirement for representing a country in the world's greatest sporting event.

our athletes don't need to win gold, they already wearing big gold chain around their necks.

Look at the tiny chains that bolt and them does wear.

express had an article essentially saying the gold could have been ours. Apparently in 2004 he wanted to rep tt but didnt have a passport. I glad. If he was from trinidad he probably would not have won anything. Would have been sucked into the culture of mediocrity

While it's true we often consider mediocrity as gold here, the converse is true and a far bigger problem.

We are a country full of haters, and that is a far bigger problem.

We criticize and bring down some very brilliant people, showing no appreciation for their efforts, while simultaneous praising someone else for being far superior, often due to tribalism, nepotism, and cronyism. Is there any wonder those with real talent and motivation get ignored?
