Driver did not run off

The driver of a black Honda Civic, who was captured on CCTV footage knocking down a pedestrian before reversing out of the view of the cameras, did not flee the scene but parked his car and returned to assist.

This was the word from police investigating the accident yesterday.

The police added that the 30-year-old Arima man walked into the Arima Police Station shortly after the accident on Saturday.

I think that's the least of his worries now especially seeing that the possibility of a jail
sentence could be in order for manslaughter.

That's if the driver was wrong. ..

In this case I didn't see the driver run off the road and hit the pedestrian.

nobody would like what i would say....

most of them popular doubles places are highly dangerous the way cars are parked and where they are located

a good example is by maritime plaza, on a saturday the idiots parked there cause serious traffic to cars trying to get onto the highway

of course the doubles customers have the wrong and strong attitude

our place in woodbrook is a stones throw from brooklyn bar,
doubles customers would insist on parking in front of driveways as though it is a national right because
they buying the national delicacy, thank god their quality has gone down and georgex has also retired
if you see more than 3 customers there now they lucky

Maybe the driver thought that reversing would turn back time.

Like really??? U just clear way a youth and u reverse basically the entire street to park??? What horseshit

clearly you don't know the area, that "entire street" goes all the way back to the Larry Gomes Stadium, or he could have proceeded south out of the frame and headed to the dual carriageway also he could have easily not stopped and proceeded to Cocorite Road and left, the vid captures the area in from the bar the area out of frame in where ppl park. He parked the car rendered aid and then went to the station and reported the incident. Ppl made assumptions based on the vid and despite information to the contrary coming forward want to insist differently

Add in the doubles man and I will say all of the above... Essentially that youth get hit by the perfect storm of unfortunate events

I truly sympathize with his family... nobody deserve to go like that... maybe if he was more cautious he wouldn't have stepped into the roadway at that moment... maybe if the driver decided to slow down a few kilos he would have just bumped the poor fellah... but maybe this incident will remind everybody to be a little more cautious when using the roadways, be it motorists or pedestrians.

Very unfortunate incident but it happens so often where people just stroll onto the roads without due care. Pedestrians should be way more cautious.
