Also, "Flash" and "Video" codes don't work:
[flash=]
[/flash]
but that may not even be relevant anymore with facebookvideo and YouTube.
it's a known issue and we are trying to find a solutionCaptain Awesome wrote:Is there any reason why no topics show under "participated" in Tapatalk on Android? Works fine on other forums.

The site is now far more mobile friendly and traffic in the classifieds and blog are up tremendously.

you can switch off the image previews in the app in settings.JF.K wrote:mars wrote:... I don't use it on a mobile device at all though, so can't speak to that
I actually prefer the mobile app compared to the new desktop look – for navigation, reading and entering posts.
What I don’t like about the app though is the Preview of the last Picture Posted.
It maybe a rude/nude or gruesome pic that someone may not want to see, for whatever personal reason etc… but they are forced to see it without even entering the thread - simply by scrolling down the list of threads in a forum, most of the pic is shown even if it was deleted by the poster.
the app which you prefer has a Dark / Night mode, it's in the Settings.JF.K wrote:I think the older version had a bit more darker background colours which made it easier on the eyes.
A "Dark Mode" option for the desktop is welcomed by me.
what about it is annoying? We'd like to fix it if there is a problemToyopet wrote:I guess yes, change is a must, but I find the forum search from a pc kind of annoying.
changing the browser window size will remove the nav bar and replace it with a burger menu. The forum has always had breadcrumbs. That is built into phpbb.DirtHeart wrote:agreed.. my tuner usage reduced to almost 0 now.
The usability doesn't work for me. However, the mobile app is better.
for example, when the user session starts, the "login" button should be hidden.
lacks "funneling" too many navs. the user will get lost. 1 burger menu and breadcrumbs would suffice. lose the navbar or lose the burger menu for quick links and the right div entirely .
For starters lol
Duane, Hire me as your website consultant. I charge hot eh lol

Let's say I search "tyres" and hit the search button, I get a listing of all the individual posts. Basically of there are 10 threads about tyres each with 5 posts, there would be 50 results
You can also search within search results.Creative wrote:Toyopet wrote:Duane 3NE 2NR wrote:what about it is annoying? We'd like to fix it if there is a problemToyopet wrote:I guess yes, change is a must, but I find the forum search from a pc kind of annoying.

This! I find it really annoying to have every single individual post rather than just the thread show up in the results. It makes looking for stuff so much harder now.

the grey background colour for the posts is the same shade of grey in the old version and the new version.
the latest version of the app that was released last couple of weeks ago changes the colour and makes the usernames more readable in dark mode. I imagine you use Android and your phone theme/skin is set to be dark.JF.K wrote:Duane 3NE 2NR wrote:the app which you prefer has a Dark / Night mode, it's in the Settings.JF.K wrote:I think the older version had a bit more darker background colours which made it easier on the eyes.

Yup... I know about the Dark Mode in the app.. (one of the things I like about the app)
But it has limitations... Usernames are not easily recognizable along with other dark coloured text in Powerseller Ads etc
Google search results and wikipedia for example user far more white in their pages than we do. If screen brightness on white web pages is an issue you can try plugins like Hacker Vision for Chrome or turning down your screen brightness levels. it would work on wikipedia and google for you too.JF.K wrote:Wrt the desktop... the screen is larger than a phone, so this new White Background (around the thread) is the somewhat glaring feature. I always have to make sure all the lights are on in the room when using the desktop version lol.
sites that remove ads for members are usually paid sites or sites that collect revenue from users in some form. We try to keep everything for free on TriniTuner. We get tens of thousands of visitors each day, including in our mobile app and so advertisers are happy to get their ads seen and pay the bills. Win, win, win situation for users, advertisers and us. We use standard Google ad sizes too to ensure that ads are not overly intrusive (except on our page-takeover ad of course).JF.K wrote:With the endless ads all over, I feel like I'm on a Torrent Site. Even with these sites though, once you're a registered member, they remove the ads.
But when it is just a "community/discussion forum" and I see all these ads... it gets annoying. I guess it's your business so I'm not against it.
we are very happy for the feedback and lets us know what our users want. The trinituner.com you see today is a culmination of user feedback and requests that we have gotten over the years based on what users want.JF.K wrote:I personally feel the difference and don't really like it, but that is just me.
