I have smartdnsproxy set up on my router getting nexflix to stream on my smart TV but still won't work on my Xbox or Blu-ray player I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app of my Xbox as well as restarted it no luck the Xbox shows the proper DNS which is installed on the router but it still does not work. I guess for now I will use the smart TV for Netflix

It's easy to circumvent the VPN block, well havent tried any VPN over 3G. For those wanting to bypass the restrictions however, you can use a service such as Unblock-US or Unotelly but via using the DNS. Those of you with Roku's and Apple TV (3rd Gen), not sure about the Fire TV, they've hard coded Google's DNS (8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4) so the best bet is to use one of those services mentioned and create a static route redirecting the Google DNS addresses to localhost (127.0.0.1).

Since smartproxydns wasn't working, I reverted to the standard DNS

Couple months later, set the DNS back up for on Xbox One for HBO Now and suprisingly Netflix works again. They added a third DNS number so I used that one instead.

It's a real cat-and-mouse game with nfx and smartdns, but usually they fix it within a day or two. a bit annoying sometimes tho

Unblockus was working for most content by me up to a few days ago, then BAM, "You appear to be using a proxy or unblocker" and no more netflix.

^ I have been using smartdnsproxy for over a year to access Hulu, CBS, HBO Now etc and Netflix does not work with it all the time - I also get the netflix "seems you are using a proxy" message from time to time.

So expressVPN seems to be the only choice

Same happens to me with Smart DNS Proxy. I actually cancelled my 4th of July subscription with them. I don't think their service will keep up.

unblock-us has been useless with Netflix on the Roku for quite some time, but only recently we've been intermittently getting the proxy/ unblocking software notification on our laptops/ tablets. It's becoming a press your luck game between these companies and netflix. Feel I might cancel unblock and give one of the others a try yes.

How do you get credentials for HBO now cbs etc? Have someone's login from abroad that you use through smartdns?

no you just pay for it

HBO Go requires US cable subscription login. HBO Now just requires payment.
