So I asked them if they run fibre direct to your home
lady replied they utilize other service providers wiring.
Then I asked if they use Flow she said YES
I replied no thank you
Still waiting on Digicel was promised next week
This is totally incorrect.
Massy has run their own Fiber Optic Lines all the way from their head end to the customers living rooms. They have absolutely nothing to do with Flow lines. That CSR did not know what he/she was talking about.
Massy uses GPON which is a fibre optic technology totally different from what Flow is using (DOCSIS). It is the same basic technology that Digicel is using, though with different vendors etc.
Ping times are excellent, download speeds are consistent and the upload speeds unmatched by anyone else.

Can confirm.... fibre goes straight to your modem....looks very similar to an optical audio (toslink/) cable

When doing speed tests for comparison, it is recommended to use a server outside the country, probably one in Miami.

Upload speed is very good as I can upload a 2GB video to Google Drive in 20 min.
Online Play is Good as well on the ps4.
Since I got it I've been testing it with YouTube and during peak times playing some videos at 1080p the loading seems to barely outrun the playback sometimes meeting it and buffering. Or I would have to pause playback to let the video load a bit first.
Called the Technician which was so fast like a 2 second wait. He told me it might be that they are working on the fibre in the area and it may be affecting some customers and to unplug the router for 10 mins, monitor it over the night and call him in the morning.
Just tried the Youtube playback at this offpeak time and its better but I'll check again tomorrow evening.
This is my speed test comparison. Between flow and Massy, which I have both running until I'm ready to fully switch.

Do you know that in some areas both Digicel and Massy are using T&TEC's fibre?

Why does an electricity company have fibre?

I think they use it for communication between substations and their main control office etc.
This is not something new though.
Their plans to sell 'space' on their fibre network to internet providers, was in the making a long time ago.

Digicel is presently paying T&TEC:
US$20,000.00 per kilometer of fibre.
And I think it's approx 170km of fibre being used by Digicel.
Well... at least that's what my partner on the inside told me.
Massy is on board as well and I think they want to increase use of T&TEC fibre over similar distances
