Hey guys, quick question.

I was in a discussion recently with some friends about pricing and the unavailability of good home theater products at an affordable price locally, I would like to change that. While we do offer and stock Bowers & Wilkins products its just not in everyone's price range, so I was thinking how can I make some of the other products we represent very affordable without compromising warranty and quality.

I came up with the idea of offering group buys 2-3 times a year on select product packages.

First package will be a basic 5.1 home theater set that will be very easy to install and setup as a DIY project.

1 - Marantz NR1506 5.1 A/V Receiver $4800
1 - Deftech ProCinema 600 5.1 speaker set. $6500
100' - 16ga OFC Speaker wire $500
2 - 6' Hdmi cables $200
1 - Panamax MD2 Surge Protector $400

Retail on all items total to $12,400

I can offer a package price of $9,999 if I can get a commitment from 5 or more people.

So the question is this, based on the package how many of you guys will be interested in the group buy?

Based on the response I get I will let you'll know if and when the group buy will start.

Please feel free to contact us at 222-0724 / 362-2814 if you have any questions or concerns.

^ The setup in my office is almost exactly that except I have a higher model Panamax

Marantz NR1506 5.1 A/V Receiver
Deftech ProCinema 600 5.1 speaker set
Panamax M-5100PM

That price of $9,999 is a steal. Definitely worth it!

How much more would that package be with the Panamax M8-AV-PRO instead?

The Panamax M8-AV-PRO is the best option from Panamax's floor models, it offers premium filtration, Automatic voltage monitoring, surge protection & 12 volt triggers for selected outlets just to name a few of the benefits for this product.

http://www.panamax.com/Products/Floor-M ... b_features

The Panamax M8-AV-PRO is $1250.

I can offer the package with the Panamax M8-AV-PRO for $10,500.

I cant decide on a receiver.
Budget is not more than 700. US online
I was looking at something with a little more power (in case i have to upgrade speakers later on)
don't need any specific features.

I was looking at this
http://www.amazon.com/Sony-STRDN860-Cha ... b_title_ce

and this

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ILC ... 1_2&sr=8-2

any suggestions?

^ Do you need 7.1?

check that Marantz NR1506 5.1 A/V Receiver that Electronic Interiors posted above.
Far better sound quality than the Sony or Onkyo IMO
You get local warranty too.

that Yamaha is nice though.

^^^ With a budget of 700 USD and if 7.1 is not necessary then definitely the Marantz NR1506 will be a great option, however is 7.1/7.2 is required I would suggest you look at the Inetgra DTR20.7

http://www.integrahometheater.com/Produ ... =prodClass

I have sent you a PM with the price.

Please feel free to contact us at 222-0724 for more info.

Sometimes the (popping noises from speakers randomly) can be caused by digital noise from your source or a bad optical/HDMI cable.

^ i disconnected all cables (inputs)
popping still happened randomly when switched to any source

doesn't happen on radio though

i suspect it was a power issue, tv board had to be replaced recently due to voltage issue

thanks for the feedback and suggestions

mind if I ask the size of the room?

7.1 may not yield any better experience in a small room

Don't necessarily agree. I had a 5.1 previously which was upgraded to 7.1 and with the audyssey processing, 5.1 tracks sound much better on 7.1 than plain 5.1... Plus, 7.1 tracks are an improved and more immersive experience. And my room's like 14 x 12.

Thats quite a large room for speakers unless you are using some "large speakers" with some form of amplification to be able to fill the entire room with sound.

Is your viewing area a smaller section of that 30 x 30 room? If so you could try to concentrate the sound field to the viewing and seating area if thats possible instead of trying to fill the whole room with sound.

agreed, but that's why I said may not, in really small spaces I've noticed little to no difference at times on many tracks

Assuming that the content is 7.1 to begin with .... i think the room size would not affect the experience of the media.

Can I get some recommendations for speakers for a Yamaha RX-A2050 receiver. I want to initially run a 5.2 setup (2 subs for uniformity and aesthetics). Later on I will add speakers for ATMOS. Thanks

I believe in definitive technology speakers so id recommend them. Check out promonitors, procenters, and bipolars (for surrounds). Plus a supercube as the subs.

Also check put the definitive technology tower speaker bp8060st for your fr and fl Has built in powered subs plus you can add the atmos speaker module a60 later on if you choose and dont have to knock holes in ypur ceiling.
