Hi all, anyone ever did the 1 year in Business administration. Is it worth it and how difficult and its price?

If its 1 year you would need an Advanced Diploma level cert to enter. So its not really 1 year.

As for how good they are, well University of Hertfordshire is ranked higher than most Uni associated with SBCS save for UOL offcourse but its higher than say Greenwich.

The Computer Science BSc at CTS is pretty good, its more of an IT degree than computer science but its better than the Computing offered at SAM or SBCS when it comes to programming content.

I would recommend CTS over everyone else unless you are doing a UOL degree at SBCS which is the best obviously.

Hertfordshire is one of the better newer unis in the UK, as is Greenwich, Sunderland and Heriot-Watt.

Provided it's accredited, most ah them does have similar content. UOL for me iz best cos it the most prestigious.

they always revising timetable and reshuffling subjects, feels as if they now trying their hand at a degree program.

but everyone's experience varies, if you just want a degree then yea AIB, but not much recognition outside Trinidad except St Lucia, Guyana and they say USA... but yet to find that

You would probably be doing a BSc than a BA.. but yes the Bachelor's first as the foundation is always good. But you can do it the other way around.. say if it's a requirement of your employer. If you've been holding a managerial or supervisory position for some time you can go directly into to the MSc. then BSc after if you have to.

Did you do "Information Technology" or "Computer Science" at CTS?

If you did Information Technology that might be where your problems lie.

For Elective Modules did you choose Databases? if so Databases and what else?

An IT Degree has ZER0 value if not backed up by plenty experience and specific certs.

Computer science had a bulk of programming Food, OOP, the IT had databases, networking, internet web applications and Strategic information systems management. The IT degree is one that should be in better stance as a lot of companies want a jack of all trades and not just a programmer? The computer science degree is desired maybe cause less people has it due to the hatred of programming?

Hey all I noticed that CTS has updated their computer science and IT BSc final year.

The Database module been replaced with something known as "Data Mining and Visualization" this involves things like Machine Learning, developing algorithms and software to increase profits for a business etc. From what I gather the Data Mining in general is very technical and complex and involves a lot of math.

Anyone knows if there are jobs for this locally? could there be openings for such a position locally? there seem to be few if any fields in IT that isn't already beyond saturated.
