That entire piece of Stagnant water just after sea lots, this can be filled and utilitized as a HUGE car park to serve the city of port of spain, not the government ministers and MP's ( that's what they have Hyatt for), not the politishitians, but the people, PArk and RIDE, and if you MUST go into the city then you PAY to do so.
Or bulid a More MODERN city Gate on that side and then reuse the current city gate as the new CAR PARK for port of SPAIN!

Stand up against car park
By Shaliza Hassanali
Laventille community activist Lennox Smith is advising residents of Sea Lots, Port-of-Spain, to defend with their lives the lands they have developed and occupied for the past three decades.
Smith addressed residents of the area on Saturday after hearing of the Government’s plan to build a $300 million multi-storey car park in the Sea Lots cove in the vicinity of the Lighthouse on the Beetham Highway.
The announcement was made at Thursday’s post-Cabinet press conference by Minister of Works Colm Imbert.
He said construction of the car park would help reduce traffic flow into the central business district in Port-of-Spain.
Construction of the car park is expected to be completed in 18 months and it will provide parking for up to 2,000 cars.
Smith said the construction of the car park would mean some people would have to be displaced, as land would have to be reclaimed by the Government.
“Prepare to defend the lands you have developed and occupied with your lives, in order to protect our children’s heritage and legacy,” Smith urged the residents.
He said a forced displacement of residents of East Port-of Spain and environs by the Government to make way for the rich and powerful was not part of the social contract evidenced by the outcome of the 2002 general election.
Smith said the Government’s move to displace families would only increase poverty, crime, hopelessness and youth disillusionment.

This is why our little country will NEVER improve, Squatters and Illegals figure they OWN this place and they entitled to every damn thing.
How exatly does developing this stagnant area deprive them of anything? a View of the port? A cleaner breath of air as apposed to what they have now?

Population of Point Fortin = 20,235 which is 1.52%
Bright Idea lets build a 10 Billion dollar Highway for people in Point Fortin!
Lets use cash so that no one like
IDB can tell us it is a bad idea.
