Tricky question for the electrical guys

Postby someone904 » October 22nd, 2015, 4:28 pm

Hello everyone, ok so i have a pioneer dvd deck with the reverse camera function and I do have a reverse camera installed, which only works when i put the vehicle in reverse. On the deck however, it has a feature that allows viewing of this camera all the time. I was told that the camera needs to be hooked up to accessories in order to stay on.
What i wanna do however is hook up a side camera to work with this function. The problem will be getting the reverse switch to kill the power to the side camera and allow the reverse camera to show. Anyone has any idea on how to do Do this? Thanks

doing this will make your camera be on full-time. Don't think its designed for being on that long. However, it can be done.

But,why you need to see behind on your radio when you going forward?

Hi
Relays has 2 contacts a normally open (NO) and Normally closed (NC) contact
U gonna have to draw this out but basically when u put reverse on using 2 relays , use one to trigger NO to close for reverse camera on at the same time trigger the NC to open turning off the side mirrors cameras thus switching cameras in reverse gear
When the car is in anything but reverse relays should revert to their normal state of side cameras on n reverse off.
I'm gonna do the same to my truck but instead use a toggle switch to control relays as I may need to switch on the fly
Hope this helps
