A good budget...I think that Imbert despite the doubt concerning his appointment did a good job.

Even after the presentation I thought that was a good interview. Both parties answered well.

If that $6 is a huge problem then you shouldn't own a car in the first place.

Bodow....
That's just a Trini expressing their view, being accustomed to freeness mentality!!!!
Then again $6 increase on his tank, but is how often he gonna have to put diesel to pay this $6 extra...
I'm assuming a diesel engine in an Accent can be a PH or Taxi. In this event the cost would be handed down to the passenger...who would most likely pay towards this cost bout 20 times b4 fill up...

I agree with Rowley on what he will do with GATE. Give it only to those who cannot afford it, too many rich kids driving new SUV and accessing GATE and this should not be.

Also this 10 billion they spending on national security, will this mean that police will actually come now when you call?

I think teems1 was just being sarcastic with his comment.

You do know that Massy Motors sells Hyundai Accents with a diesel engine straight from the factory?

Also they have seemed to have agreed to get the IDB involved in the local financial situation. Looks to be good...from what I gather we were placed under IDB sanctions at one point and we survived, might just be the kick we need.

So gas and diesel went up. Does this mean an increase in transport fees?

Wait for what the Maxi-Taxi Association has to say or even PTSC.

So if any business man raises cost of goods and services, we boycotting?
Question, does this affect electricity?

Powergen generates electricity using natural gas received at favorable rates. Diesel does not affect electricity rates.

Whey boy, people not realising that the reason for the increase in nat security budget is because they have absorbed the ministry of justice? so prisons and forensics now back under MNS.

Hadeed of the TTMA just said that manufacturer prices shouldn't be increased because of diesel prices as in the grand scheme of things fuel is only about 10-15% of expenditure so would relate to a 2% increase in cost of goods/services.. but as everyone says its the non vat/tax payers who will raise pieces (taxis/parlours etc)

and i have to agree with something he said, that the fuel subsidy may have been better removed totally in one shot, let everyone cuss and complain and only raise their prices once and not raise it every time the subsidy is reduced and prices increase.

People should stop complaining...Great is the PNM...great budget...lol...Just deal with it. On another note, I find the PM should get trained on public speaking, tackle questions being asked by the media head on and stop hiding/ diverting questions to his ministers, like he clueless about the nation.

Just my two cents.
