The denon you are looking at is the 2200w. This only has 7 speaker terminals, with the additional 2 speaker terminals (i.e. SBL and SBR) being the assignable terminals for the FH, Atmos or SB.

This type of amp assign is different to my denon... This means that depending on the speaker configuration you have connected, the associated sound channel will be decoded from the original soundtrack and played back through those speakers.

Think of it like this... If you have atmos speakers connected, you will make an amp assignment for atmos and when you play an atmos enabled soundtrack, the atmos channels will be decoded and sent to those connected speakers.

If you have SB speakers (or FH speakers) connected, you will select the appropriate amp assignment but when you play an atmos enabled soundtrack the atmos channels will be "blended" with the other channels, "re-decoded" and played back as 7 channels based on your selected amp asignment.

In my case, i have many 7.1 channel soundtracks with the additional 2 channels being SB, but because i dont have SB connected speakers these two channels are mixed in with the other channels and decoded to play back in my 7 connected speakers. Same applies for the only atmos enabled movie i have, transformers 4.

Now, if you want the convenience of what you have described in the yamaha in a denon, you will have to go for a higher model like the 4200w which is double the price of the 2200w. The beauty of the 4200w however is that you have a receiver with the " future" in mid and which will allow you to grow your system over time. I dont know what your budget is like, but the cost of the 4200w may be a downside.

The yamaha may have the convenience but you will get YPAO which, based on my personal experience, is really lame when compared to audyssey.

If you want my raw advice - wire the room for as many speakers as you want with all the possible speakers you think you will ever want to install (... C, FL, FR, SL, SR, SBL, SBR, FHL, FHR, FWL,FWR, RHL, RHR, ATMOS x 6... The limit is your need) . Splurge on a really good first set of speakers and initially, buy a lower class receiver as your first, say the 710w or even the 510bt. I mentioned in an earlier post that the speakers make the ht system, not the receiver... Crap speakers + high end receiver = crappy sound; great speakers + low end receiver = good sound and good speakers + high end receiver = great sound.

Which leads me to a question... All this talk of receivers, but what speakers were you looking at?

I now get the picture on how the DENON mixes the channels to produce sound on the config you have...

I am using the following MB Quart speakers... I have owned them for over 6 years and they still sound great.

I have a pair of these considering to install them for the Front High

Anyone in this forum have any experience with using Kodi and the addons? I was reading up a bit on the internet and would like to understand how I can use Kodi to live stream programs from the network channels such as ABC, CBS, NBC etc.

Any thoughts?

Is anyone having problems with Netflix streaming at a low quality with intermittent buffering? I use unblockus and Chromecasts as my clients. My primary connection is a 30Mb flow but I've also tried it on my blink dsl backup with the same problem. I'm not sure but I think that when I select a non us region it streams a little better. YouTube plays fine in HD and Hulu plays fine too except for the Ads.. Every single ad buffers. I reached out to unblockus and all they had to say was that they don't support ChromecastChromecast.

man!

1080p on netflix is awesome!

recently iv been noticing that happening and it adds a lot to the movie/series.

gg flow!

oh, notice it since i setup my apple extreme. my wife also asked me if i upgraded out package.

i have to admit, for some reason or the other, the apple extreme seems to do a really good job at routing really good. quality of service is like no other router iv owned!

What may make the apple extreme better than other routers, say a asus or linksys?

I switched to smartdns a few days ago. Netflix working much better. But I'm still skeptical as to whether unblock-us was causing the problem. I still switched because I wasn't satisfied with the effort they gave in their replies to me.

based on experience with those both brands, high and mid end. i can safely say MY experience is that the apple does the routing even. iv noticed my wife can be streaming 1080p while i download at 2.5MB per sec on a 30mbit connection. others can be on the network as well and have no issues with speed while all this is going on. also, i have noticed that my latency is stable in online games as well.

oh, netflix isnt betweek 480 and 720, its constant 720 or 1080, which is a HUGE plus for me, simply because we use netflix like toilet paper LOL

thats the best way i can describe it actually, as i have idea how apple designed their software to do the routing or the way it does load balancing. i know asus and linksys both use algorithms to try and determine what is being done and give preference to said bandwidth extensive required situation.

my opinion.. FAIL

my brother in law just sold his apple extreme and went with this :

http://www.amazon.com/RT-AC3200-Tri-Ban ... sus+router

long story short, even though is connection is a 180mbit down and 75mbit up... he misses the apple because it provided much better load balancing.

Guys... I ordered something online and the order was mixed up. I ended up getting a projector screen instead. It is the raw material for a custom screen install.

If anyone here is interested I am willing to sell it to recover the cost on the shipping, duty and original item (which was very low to begin with).

PM me if you are interested.

I heard the BOSE at a friend's house a couple weeks ago.

The haters gonna hate, but the damn thing sound good.... from a speaker a little bigger than a clock radio I was hearing bass, good dynamic range and a full spectrum sound.... I kept looking under the table for a subwoofer...

Well u r right haters will hate... I was at a presentation a few weeks ago and the guy presenting had a pair of bose computer speakers but the wired ones... Those things sounded real good. When i checked them up online, those particular speakers were us$299. Not sure i want to spend that nor do i want wired... Hence the reason im looking at the bose bluetooth.

U remember which ones u heard by ur friends house? was it the soundlink mini 2 like these:

You can also take a look at the Bowers & Wilkins T7 Bluetooth Speaker.

With 17hrs play time you can be sure it will get you through any presentation, but more importantly the T7 ability to sound clear and deliver excellent sound quality will help you drive home your point.

If you're interested in a high end speaker that's a bit bigger with superb sound quality and a range of connectivity options you might consider the DALI Kubik Free.

for qos on routers you can check out gargoyle replacement (openwrt) firmware for suitable routers.
load balancing is used when using two internet providers..

I can stream netflix 1080p to two pcs, and presently sharing internet with 2 neighbors on 13Mb connection. Running stable for about 5 years so far.
