But the spec isn't the same as the Corolla.
Better suspension and better chassis makes for a better ride.
More sound insulation and refined drivetrain means quieter ride. ... (I honestly don't know if audi tinkered with the drivetrain that they received from vw..... but they tend to)

What additional features make a car "luxurious"

If both toyota and audi had the same features in a crossover vehicle which would be considered more "luxurious"

do you want to be seen in luxury or do you want to experience luxury features or a bit of both.

It ain't luxury if the spec is the same as a corolla

Not actually what I was trying to say. Was just genuinely interested in the spec.

:?: :?: I'm lost...Why are we talking about a Corolla in the same breath as a Q3 again? They are in no way comparable. Come again :D

It's almost as bad as what I read on the Brandname Motors Facebook this morning. Some guy complaining about the price and trying to compare a BMW M5 to a 320i. I mean really.

Yep, same thing I told them on their FB page, their argument is that because it's ' all new technology ' they can charge a pong n a crong for it, I dunno who the idiot is that I was talking too but, they were pretty ignorant to what the car is and what it should sell for. The same ' technology ' that is in the CX-3 is also In the CX-5, the only difference is that the CX-3 is a smaller newer design exterior wise with a Mazda 2 interior, albeit of higher quality than a Mazda 2, but still.

If anyone cares, uvml on FB has the CX-3 for 205, not sure what kind of engine that has though.

Their CX3 price is just 6000 less than Southern Sales have the CX5 base model for now.

I think people get mixed up between luxury and premium.

Audi, Merc, BMW etc are premium car makers, that also produce luxury cars. This means the "lowly" spec'ed Q3 and others of that ilk are still premium cars, with the kind of engineering, assembly, and materials that are typically a cut above the mainstream.

A luxury car can be based on a premium car, or any car for that matter, and is characterised by the features and finishes included which lower models do not have. So, a baseline Audi A4 is a premium car... and alternatively a full spec Kia Optima is a luxury car.

I know some will disagree but think of it as wrist watches... you have mainstream Casio, premium Seiko, and luxury Rolex.... but premium Seiko, also makes luxury models to compete with Rolex, and mainstream Casio's Edifice line has all the bells and whistles to categorise it as a luxury watch, although at a fraction of the price of a comparable Seiko, or worse yet, Rolex.

^ totally agree with that.

Since we're on the topic of that q3. Anyone has a price for the 1.4tsi q3 and spec sheet?

Supposed to be a Bi-turbo 2.0 diesel around 180 Hp

Is it built to run on the higher sulphur content in the diesel?

There is a rumour I heard that GM would like to capture some small SUV/Crossover sales in the T&T market. The Qashqai, Juke, HR-V, ASX, XV and Tiguan are actually doing fairly well in sales so we may see the arrival of the Chevrolet Trax 1.4T for around $240k plus or minus a few. The CX-3 may join us sooner than we think too. Funny these crossovers are having a rebirth in our market and the one that started it off in the first place ie. Daihatsu Terios is no longer imported.

One main reason the crossovers are selling more now is because of its lower price when compared to a SUV, like the Qashqai and X-Trail, and HR-V and CR-V for example. Some people would go for the lower priced one because SUV prices have gone up in recent years.

The Honda city CNG is still pretty expensive considering government has waived VAT and motor vehicle tax on it, I feel classic just pocket the difference.

OR CNG cars are just really expensive from the get go

The Kia Rio is better equipped and sips on super without the CNG hassles

More troubling to the CNG bandwagon is all the 1.0L and 1.4L TURBO cars that are a year or two away from hitting our shores. Local Dealerships always shy away from turbo models because of the PERCEIVED reliability issues... but soon they will have little or no choice as these are the ONLY engine choices offered globally for many upcoming models, 2016 Civic base is 1.5 turbo as well

On the plus side, it means that we will pay less on engine tax - or the firms will just pocket more money :/

Ansa did mention the City CNG was a "Luxury vehicle" on the guardian

Also I dout they will ever bring those honda turbo Vtec for a while, its not only reliability issues the problem is premium gas. People want cars that run on super .....

Perceived reliability issues...lol. ... is Trini you dealing with
Everyone knows better than the manual how to service their vehicle
Manual recommend 5000km oil change. ... Trini find oil that say 25000km and want to run oil to that.
Manual recommend RON95 fuel..... Trini want to run super with $25 octane booster
Country warm. .. Who needs a thermostat...remove that. ..

Car Dealers know what they dealing with...
NA is easier to maintain
Less cylinder pressure, less heat, less power, less overall wear and tear means less headache.

Many of the new turbo vehicles are designed to run on 91 octane

However, why are we paying more than double the price for premium, the price of Oil has dropped drastically since that draconian price was put in place, by LAW the govtt MUST drop the price of premium (Petroleum Act)

Now would actually be the best time to drop the subsidy. People would rejoice, premium would go down and the price of super should stay the same or go up by a fraction.

91 octane = 95 RON
