Good comparison but who knows when Diamond going to bring this new one tho. I'm kinda shocked with somethings with the Frontier like the coils in the rear doesn't make it that good for heavy loads so apparently they accept that it's for crims and excessive chrome finishers

How many people actually utilize anything near the full payload of their van. Coil springs mean that the ride is better and manufacturers have realized that many people are using their van to transport their family

New Vehicle Prices In Trinidad & Tobago

Postby Swisha » August 5th, 2015, 12:32 pm

Nah I got a quote from him yesterday for the 4x4 Limited, Gas for $330,475 on the road and it had "special introductory price" marked on it.

So those prices may not last for long depending on how well they sell...

Scene. You know what is the major difference between the 4x4 Advance and the 4x4 Limited?
I got the specs for the Style and Advance Gas and the major differences seem to be -
1. 4x4 as opposed to 2x4
2. 18" Alloy as opposed to 17" Aluminum
3. Exterior Chrome Package
4. Leather TGS Knob and Steering
5. Sunvisor and Glove box illumination

Classic Motors quoted me $217k for the 1.6 civic and $255 for the HRV basic model. That's teh cash price if u not taking the All In Package.

But just the other day (maybe a month) ago I saw they were running ads for the Civic at $211,000 or something like that. They really do not want to sell much of that car.
IMO the HRV is nice but when you can get the basic Qashqai for $250,000 and now the new Tucson (basic) for $259,000 and both of those are 2.0l as opposed to the HRV 1.8l I just don't see why buy one except for the Honda Name.

Did you know that the the 1.8L HRV makes about the same power as the 2.0L qashqai
Qashqai engine is a newer build might be more efficient and better power delivery, but the HRV is lighter.
But my point is don't judge the engine by the cc size, doesn't matter now ah days.

The hp figures might be similar but there is more to it than just those figures.

A 1.4 tsi jetta and a 1.6 sir civic make about the same horsepower but there is an obvious difference in the delivery.

Yeah but the 1.8 and the 2.0 here are non turbo so no real surprises in delivery from a 200 cc difference.

Based on the specs for the engines the Nissan has more torque than the Honda
I believe they are both cvt.
There will be a noticeable difference.... Probably not as pronounced as the example I gave but I'm sure you would be able to feel it
Never said anything about a surprise. ..

Test drove both on the same day and didn't feel any big difference.
The power delivery on the HRV felt smoother because the CVT felt more polished. Both did not really feel sluggish for NA engines.
Upper end power the Qashqai should have an advantage cause its a DOHC vs the HRV SOHC

TD the Kuga 1.6 (1.5 actually) drives pretty good for the engine. Good suspension/balanced chasis.

:? - Moment of confusion: Why is the 1.8 Civic from Classic Motors higher priced than the 1.8 HRV fully loaded?

saw an add in the newspapers that the new Audi Q3 1.4TSI is here @ $350k

With Tucson prices reaching as high as $374k its easy for some to join a prestige brand than buying a Hyundai.

On the topic of HRV vs Qashqai, see below:

Qashqai:
2.0 DOHC 16V (142hp)
106kW @ 6000rpm
200Nm @ 4400rpm
weight: 1408-1457kg

HRV:
1.8 SOHC 16V (141hp)
105kW @ 6500rpm
172Nm @ 4300rpm
weight: 1328kg

Based on the above I would say its almost a fair fight, what the Honda couldn't make up for in power they gained on weight savings since the HRV can fit in the Qashqai comfortably. The Mitsubishi ASX and Subaru XV are better IMO.

Any idea on the spec of the Q3 1.4TSI? Is it the same as the 2.0TFSI?
Or is it a lower spec, like removing bi-xenons/leds, leather, dual-zone etc?

From what I remember the 1.4TSI isn't quattro.

Thanks. Good comparison, people really do get hung up on the engine displacement and forget all the other factors.

Yeah but lower speced luxury cars just don't seem that luxurious
as 4 motion said.

It ain't luxury if the spec is the same as a corolla
