Which rim looks better?

Postby yvan300 » July 10th, 2015, 9:53 pm

On the market for some new rims. I've narrowed down my search to these two rims. They're both around the same price and are the same size. Which do you think would look better on a black galant?

Edit for vossen replica.

That's the thing. They both look good. I'm feeling 50/50. So I studying to check what others might have to say to help decide.

To add a lil more difficulty to the decision. The gold is a konig while the black and red is mwc. Afaik konig is a much more known brand. Not sure if that translates to superior quality.

Also in order for both rims to be the same price, the konig would have to be bought with foreign used tires, while the black and red I'd be getting new tires.

One gripe with the new tires though, is that they're really low profile. Like 40 series because of pricing.

With the foreign used tires, I'd be getting wider tires that are thicker as well, like 50 series. This may help with ride comfort and potholes etc.

OP buy both set, put the red and black on the left side and the gold on right side.
Take pics of both side and i'll let you know which side looks better.

The first rim not bad but pattern too common. The second one I don't like at all but for some reason real people have it. Got this one in Penal and its also an MWC, but a rare pattern.

personally i may not choose either, 1st looks real plain & boring , d 2nd looks better ... :|

ask them to hold it up against ur car wheel to see how it looks "on" d car

some yrs ago i bought some rims that looked nice on d display but on d car it self it didnt

end up trading it next day at $1000 loss for some other rims that looked better on d car ... ........ :(

Yeah I wondering how it'd look on the car too. But from some pictures on the net, the red and black rim seems to take black cars well. I kinda studying the little lip on the red and black rim though. A friend told me that when a rim has a lip and the spokes don't travel all the way to the edge of the rim, it makes the rim appear a size smaller :s.

Krb what size tires are you running? The tire man want to give me 205/40/17, but I feel that too thin for a galant.

Yeah rs. That's the tire size I'm aiming for. Enough rubber to give a lil ride comfort. Hope it fits though.
