OFFICIAL- FC Barcelona announce the signing of ArdaTuran. Welcome Arda!
Barcelona sign Arda Turan from Atletico Madrid - but could sell him back in two weeks
Barcelona have confirmed the signing of Arda Turan from Atletico Madrid.
Manchester United and Chelsea had both been linked with moves for the Turkish midfielder - but he has put pen to paper on a five-year contract, with the transfer fee thought to be around €35million.
He will not be in competitive action for the Catalans until January next year, due to the transfer embargo the club currently find themselves under.
It is a blow for Diego Simeone, after Turan established himself as a key part of his team at the Vicente Calderon.
Bizarrely, Barca have reserved the right to sell Turan back to Atletico until July 20, so their new president, elected on July 18, can opt against the deal if he wishes.

Spanish champions Barcelona will begin the defence of their Liga title against Athletic Club at the San Mames, while Rafael Benitez’s first league game as Real Madrid manager will see him tackle newly promoted side Sporting Gijon away from home.
The two Clasico matches will be played at the Santiago Bernabeu on November 8 and at the Nou Camp on April 3, per Nicholas Rigg of AS.
Barcelona will be bidding to get their season off to a flier after sampling treble glory in the last campaign. For their eternal rivals Real, league title wins are becoming worryingly scarce, having been crowned domestic champions just once in the last seven seasons.
