120hz looks too artificial imo anyway so no care

They're gonna be pushing out a lot of older configured stuff. Because 4k ain't necessary with a 40". But a 120 Hz refresh may be of greater benefit .

Deals like those would ramp up to make way for hdmi 2 compliant appliances.

Who knows, might be able to scoop up a few 40" 120Hz 3d 1080p's for the gaming pc, in a timing.
