Triton does 700+ kilos on $90.00 diesel. I believe the new d max is supposed to be very efficient as well.

I would sacrifice speed for fuel economy any day! ANY DAY! besides speed kills, for every 10km you exceed 40km per hour you basically double your chances of dying.

Oh and by the way I can pass you "voosh" anytime I want, at the the flick of a switch. I have about $45 super gasoline in the tank.

let the cyakin continue.

I have no idea.
Saw the tuner driving like a boss a time and aspired to be a driver like that.
Only later on I saw him post in here that he has a CNG kit in it also. Stock engine with a gearbox.
Car running!!!

So at $1.65 for 31kms works out to about $0.05 per kilometer.

For me to cover 31kms in my van would require $4.50 (3 litres of diesel fuel) which works out to $0.15 per kilometer

So it would take me approximately 80000kms for the kit to pay for itself

This figure would be a lot better when compared to a gasoline vehicle.... especially one that needs premium. For me though that is looking like 4 years.

They need more filling stations though

That's not efficiency!! You all comparing efficiency by money spent and not fuel consumed.

Well money is the easiest common denominator to use.
Do you know what volume of natural gas has the energy equivalent of 1 litre of gasoline or a litre of diesel
I don't have that information currently. what I do know is how much it costs to fill my tank and how much distance can be covered with said fuel in tank.

But you are correct. .. We are comparing money per distance and not efficiency
Now I have been thinking... How does one measure efficiency.

Seems so used to get around that on my Sport Version Nav only difference I was on stock wheels.

$60 in diesel gives me just around 500 - 550km with everyday driving, going try and see if its possible to get 575- 600 (2012 Tuscon 4WD)

Not bad.

I got 672 or 675 on $92 with very spirited driving as of recent.

Constant highway driving, no traffic, no ac gets me over 1000km on $96. 750km with $76

Region’s first Honda CNG launched
By Leah Sorias

Port of Spain

Classic Motors has launched the Caribbean’s first ever Honda City Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) version, which Ansa Automotive managing director Jerome Borde has said is $35,000 cheaper than the comparable petrol variante.
The dual-fuel City CNG includes a 65-litre CNG tank capacity and a 40-litre petrol capacity. It goes for $150,000 and is said to have one of the cleanest internal combustion engines.
“The Honda CNG will make it even more convenient and enjoyable to tap into the desirable and abundant supply of natural gas that lies beneath Trinidad,” said Jim Burrell, assistant vice-president of American Honda Motor Company.
He was speaking on Tuesday evening at the launch of the City CNG as well as the Honda HR-V on the local market at Classic Motors Showroom, Richmond Street, Port of Spain.
“According to the US Environmental Protection Agency, the Honda Civic natural gas that we sell in the US is the cleanest internal combustion engine ever certified by this US agency.
“City CNG, which we are introducing in Trinidad and Tobago, is based on the same advanced technology,” Burrell said.
He said American Honda sells the City throughout the Caribbean, but only this country has the CNG version.
According to Ansa Automotive chairman David Sabga, City CNG users will save 85 per cent in fuel costs.
“We have estimated that it will cost $110 to fill the tank with gas that will give you 450 kilometres depending on highway and city driving, compared to the $14 to fill the tank with CNG. It really is a no brainer,” he said.
Also speaking at the event was Energy Minister Kevin Ramnarine who noted that five CNG stations are being upgraded and constructed which will bring to 18 the number of such stations in the country.
“We recognise that to incentivise people to buy CNG vehicles they have to know where they are going to fill these vehicles,” he said.
He said the two most recently upgraded CNG stations are located at Unipet in Chaguanas as well as Unipet in Tacarigua.
“In a few days from now, we will commission the new NP station at Trincity, which is located inside the Massy Stores compound, that will also have CNG. Later this year, around the third quarter, the St Christopher’s station on Wrightson Road will be completed and that too will have CNG.
“Then there is upgrade work taking place on the Starlite station in Diego Martin and another is being built by Joe Pires in San Juan on the Highway. The fifth station is being built on the corner of the Churchill-Roosevelt Highway and Tumpuna Road in Arima.”

if anything the subsidy for cng has to be the least when compared to diesel, super and premium.

The good thing is that it's bi fueled so in a jam it can be either or. Any word when the units would be available for test drives? The engine response is one major thing I'm wondering about.

Just bought these plugs on ebay, shipping in from slovakia

designed for cng and other hard to ignite gases, voltage requirements are low too, so i am hoping it won't damage my coilpack.
